A MESSAGE FROM OUR LEAGUE PRESIDENT:

We’re very excited about the possibilities of our site. As you will tell when you browse through it, many areas are not yet populated with information, but we are constantly working on it, so visit us often.

Shrewsbury Little League is a baseball/softball organization that is made up of boys and girls from ages 5 – 12. We also have a senior softball league for girls ages 13 – 15. Ages are based on the child’s age as of July 31st of the current playing year. Our league is governed by Little League Baseball, which is headquartered in Williamsport, PA. There are 8 different divisions within our league. They are:
 

• T-Ball for boys and girls ages 5 and 6  (Players hit off a tee and use a soft baseball.)
• Instructional Baseball for boys and girls ages 6 and 7 (6 yr. olds must have played a year of T-Ball first.  Coaches pitch to the players and they use a soft baseball.)
• Instructional Softball for girls only ages 7 and 8 (Players use a modified softball and coaches pitch to hitters.)
• Minor Baseball for boys and girls ages 8 and 9 (A regular baseball is used and players pitch.)
• Major “B” division for boys and girls ages 10 - 12 (A regular baseball is used and players pitch.)
• Little League Softball for girls only ages 9 – 12 (A regular softball is used and players pitch.)
• Major “A” Baseball for boys and girls ages 10 – 12 (A regular baseball is used and players pitch.)
• Sr. Girl’s Softball for girls only ages 13 – 15. (They play teams from other towns.)

Our league is governed by a Board of Directors. Each year we seek new members to help run the league. If you are interested in helping, please call 842-4322. We are also looking for more women to join the Women’s Auxiliary, which helps out by managing the concession stands, helping out with Opening Day and Field Day, and organizing the end of the year banquet.

Our main goal is to help children have fun and learn the game of baseball/softball. No boy or girl is turned away. Every player who signs up is put on a team, with minimum playing time requirements. We use adult volunteers to coach the teams. If you are interested in coaching, please fill in the coach’s section on the player application.
