This genre run wasn't too shabby, with an average profit per film of over $324 million....especially in light of the TWO films that relatively (or absolutely) tanked.

Miscellaneous Tidbits:

  • After Toy Story made only a so-so showing in the final tally, I made a change in the budgets of the Traditional Animation flix (I made 5 TA, 5 CA). I cut the budgets from $85+ million to $40 million...and I gave Adam Sandler $100k/16 points in the first of the lower-budget flicks to come out ("Fat Albert"), holding off on casting the other flicks until I saw how "Fat Albert" performed.  $123 million in points later...I realized that I don't pay points FOR A REASON! (Bang head on monitor. Repeat.)

  • To get the maximum ancillary contracts, the TA films had to be budgeted at $86 million, and the CA films at $90 million.

  • On the other hand, lots of ancillary contracts do not guarantee lots of ancillary revenue - the top two ancillary revenue  generators were two of the lowest-budget films...go fig!

  • I love Gillian Anderson - so I was whooping for joy when she won a Best Actress Mogie!

  • Why did "Fantasia 2004"  tank???  It was competing against 2 other animated films in a competitive month (November).  I shall now fondly dub that film my Thanksgiving Turkey!

  • I only used B-List character actors in the minor roles this time...the kinda people about whom we always say, "I know I know that guy/girl...what's his/her name again?"

  • I spent $5 million/film on pre-Mogie ads, garnering twice the number of nominations and wins as in genre run #1. I also ended up breaking even between Mogie ads and Mogie revenue.  Bah humbug!
