GEOGRAPHY
Location : In South Asia ; between 20 degree 34 minute and 26 degree 38 minute North Latitude and between 88 degree 01 minute and 92 degree 41 minute East Longitude; Most part of the country is covered with alluvial deposits formed with the Ganges-Brahmaputra river basin.

Boundaries : North- India (West Bengal and Meghalaya), West -India (West Bengal), East- India (Tripura and Assam) and Mayanmar, South- Bay of Bengal.

Area : 143,998 square kms. Territorial waters- 12 nautical miles.

The second category of export items includes Specialized Textiles and Household Linen, Footwear, Petroleum by-products, Agricultural products, Ceramic Tableware, Leather goods and handicrafts.


Other important export items having potential for further development include Dried and dehydrated fish, Packet tea, Glycerin, Pharmaceuticals, Toiletries and cosmetics, Stuffed toys, Artificial flowers, PVC pipes and bags, Ceramic Sanitaryware, GI pipes, Electric Cables, Telephone Cables, Transformers, Electronic Components, Melamine
Tableware, Cigarettes, Printed Materials, Feature Films, Fresh flowers, Aluminium household articles, Electric bulbs, Lamp and light fittings and Accumulated battery and parts etc.

MAJOR IMPORT ITEMS
Rice, Wheat, Oil Seeds, Crude Petroleum, Raw Cotton, Edible Oil, Petroleum Products, Fertilizer, Cement, Staple Fibers, Yarn, Capital Machinery, Machinery Parts, Tinned and Bagged Milk Powder etc.
