Please if you know what year the shoyru was created or who created it, e-mail me about it. I created my
neopets account Novemeber 5th, 2000, so I was not their to see the shoyrus creation.
You love and worship the shoyru-you have an entire plushie collection dedicated to this
cute, loving neopet. You have at least one shoyru in your family of Neopia. The first neopet
you ever created was...the shoyru. Yes, you love the shoyru dearly...but...do you know about
this species?
Let's take a walk back in time and take a look at the past. Let's learn about this neopet-this
neopet called the shoyru.
It all started when neopets announced their first ever create-a-pet contest, and thousands of neopians
entered to share their visions of the best neopet they could think of. Theneopets team carefully went
through the entrees, and thought that they would never find a neopet they could bring life to. The entrees
were great-but not what the neopets team were thinking. Suddenly-they saw a possiblity. It was a cute
looking creature-with a horn attached to it's head, wings that seemed to come alive-and feet that had no
toes. It's head was rather funny-it looked as if their was only one eye to the creature. But the neopets team
was sure that it had two eyes. They then glanced down at the name of the creature-Shoyru. The Shoyru...
what an odd yet perfect name! Not hesitant whatsoever-they posted the little creature into the world of
Neopia for thousands to enjoy.
The shoyrus popularity was booming for a while-everywhere people were talking about the shoyru! But
as the days went by, the shoyru's glamorous moments in the spotlight faded. The shoyru, which used to
be almost the most popular pet in Neopia, dropped to the 8th most popular pet in Neopia. Which in those
days, wasn't a very good rank. The shoyru was ignored. Other pets were given more attention-especially
for the shoyru's rival-the scorchio. Every pet got their own plushies, Battledome items, and popular
charecteristics (such as the lupe being the predator of chias, or the uni being very vain) yet the shoyru was
paid no attention.
Then something happened. One day, the neopets team decided to give the shoyru a chance again. The
shoyru was the first pet ever in Neopia to be given it's own day! Yes! It was what loyal shoyru fans had
hoped for all these years. A day dedicated to the shoyru! And best of all, the shoyru, the once ignored pet was the first to carry the title of being the first neopet to have a day dedicated to them. It was truly a grand moment in shoyru histoy.
Once everyone realized the shoyru was not to be ignored, the shoyru got another chance. People rushed
to the adoption center to create their shoyru. Each one loved them dearly. The shoyru quickly rushed up
to the #1 pet in Neopia.
But alas...the ignorance stirred once more. The shoyru was the number one pet in Neopia yet...it was
still rejected. Today, it is rare to see a shoyru get a new color to be painted. The shoyru also dosen't have
many Battledome items or toys named after them. It's quite weird. How could the most popular pet in
Neopia get rejected so?
It remains a mystery, but however, many shoyru lovers and fans love their shoyrus to death, no matter how
many colors they can be painted, or no matter how many items or pluhsies the shoyru is named after. All
that matters to true shoyru fans, lovers, and owners is that they love their shoyru, even if the shoyru never
really had true fame.
