Beaumont, Texas Mission 2000
St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and St. George's Mission
October 2, 2000 -- On Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, 2000, members of Shout for Joy Ministries visited St. George's Episcopal Mission in Port Arthur, TX and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Beaumont, TX. David Bridges and the Message, a bluegrass and gospel group from Nashville, Tennessee, provided free entertainment during St. George's first annual health fair. Bridges and other volunteers distributed bibles, clothing, shoes, shelter kits, and personal hygiene supplies, free of charge at the Port Cities Rescue Mission in Port Arthur. Supplies and funding for this mission trip were donated by various United Methodist Churches in the Tennessee Conference. This was the second annual mission to the Beaumont area. Our thanks go out to The Reverend Patrick Gahan of St. Stephen's, and The Reverend Col. Lynn Tuthill of St. George's.
