| I bought Priss back in '07 and was sure she was my dream horse. She is one of the most beautiful horses I have owned. She is a registered Morab mare. She has that high carriage from the arab, with the stout morgan build that I love. The problem I have ran into is that I board my horses right now on a large cattle farm where they have 200 acres to run in wide open pastures. Flash can be a bit of a problem to catch on the open land. She will run circles around you and it gets frustrating. Once you do manage to get her lured into the small catch pen (usually with food) she will halter and lead just fine. She saddles well, you can mount, and then she will stand there and not step out like asked sometimes. You have to push her a bit and then she'll go. She has been ridden in a full cheek snaffle and a regular D ring bit. I have always ridden in a western saddle. Her previous owner told me that she had been sent to a western pleasure trainer (and I can put you in contact with previous owner) I have gotten her up into a lope that was just perfection. She has had three foals that I am aware of. Two colts and a filly. The previous owners have retained her foals and can vouch that she is an easy breeder and good mother. She can be bred to an Arab, a Morgan or another Morab for a registered foal. All three foals were black. (one seemed to be greying out in the photos) She is a big, broad mare. VERY intelligent, boss mare. She was kept in a smaller paddock with a barn at her previous home and learned to walk right into her stall for feeding, which is how they caught her. She has potential to do anything, but is NOT for a beginner. She is stubborn, needs someone who can be consistent and ride her more often than I do. I am a pleasure rider, who gets out to the pasture to ride every other month or so. My other horses are older and not a challenge. I thought I was up to the challenge when I bought Flash, but have decided I'm not. I am willing to make a great deal on her to a good home. Look around, you will not find another quality Morab mare in the South East for this price. She was bred at Liberty Mountain, out of quality morab stock and would make a wonderful foundation mare. I personally think she would cross well on Welsh ponies to make sport ponies. Or put a little work into her and take her to the shows and WOW everyone! She is a dreamhorse to the right person. Key things to remember- 1.) She is a BIG horse....15.1 give or take, I'll get out there and measure her. But she is BROAD...Big butt, big chest, massiive shoulders. 2.) She is NOT for a beginner. If you are 12 and looking for a first horse, look elsewhere, she will buffalo you and you will not be able to gain her respect. You will have to have experience and know how to handle a boss mare. 3.) I am not claiming she is trail or show ring ready. She has been ridden in a training ring, ridden in a pasture, and she had issues that will take some time to work out (she tossed her head a bit and sulked rather than moving forward.) She will move out, trot, lope, back, turn and do everything once you have gotten past the initial stubborn fit. More pics available HERE Asking price- $950 No payments (I really got *&%$*&%# on the last payment arrangement I made. The girl took the horse, quit paying, foundered the animal and then didn't think she should have to pay) Will hold the horse and allow payments to be made while the animal is in my pocession for that special person who I think is a good match for her. Vet check available at buyers expense. If you are interested can be reached at [email protected] |
