There are many emulators for many different consoles available throughout the internet.  This nifty little downloadables are usually free and allow you to play your video games on your PC.  The easiest way to say how the emulators do this is that they trick your computer into thinking it's a game system.  Emulators were created so that people could have back-ups of their cartridge games, NOT so people could play games without purchasing them. This is called pirating and it is illegal, wrong, bad, not-good.  However, I am not responsible for any actions taken by you, the user. So have fun with it.

Nintendo Entertainment System

There are a lot of sites out there that reccomend NESticle but I say NESter.  It's easier to use and it's better on running a lot of the games.  There are TONS of ROMs for download for the NES emulators.

Kou's Reccomendations In Random Order

( Bubble Bobble ) You and a friend play the parts of Bub and Bob, two young boys who have been turned into bubble-blowing dinos and had their girlfriends kidnapped! Great fun for two players and a b!tch to figure out how to bubble ride using a keyboard! And you thought beating the Main Boss with both players alive at the end was difficult with controllers!

( Maniac Mansion ) One of the strangest games available for NES by far.  You play the parts of Dave and two of his friends as they try to infiltrate the mansion of the Mad Doctor Fred (who is possessed by a meteor btw) to rescue Dave's girlfriend Sandy before she has her brains sucked out!!  You have to really think and pay attention in this game because there are virtually no clues at all to help you!

( Legend of Zelda 1&2 ) Why not?  Link is only the coolest hero in the whole Nintendo line!  He's the only guy who could take Mario and not break a sweat. Plus he's got that cool sword and all.  Besides, you looking for a challenge? It doesn't get much harder than this.

( Jeopardy 25th Anniversity Edition ) You know you love mindless trivia.  See if you learned anything in history class.  After playing this game over and over again, you'll amaze your friends with knowledge you didn't even know you had!  And challenge them to a game! Dazzle them when you get the question to every answer! But don't tell them it's because you've had all the catagories in previous games.

( Dr. Mario ) This is a great stress reliver and/or time waster.  Practice makes perfect! Eventually you'll be able to complete all the way to the 10th level without 'overdosing!'

Super Nintendo Entertainment System

The best emulator I've tried so far has been ZSNES.  There are some screwy pixels on a few of the games but nothing major.  Another awesome point is that games released for Super Famicom that were never released for SNES are available to you now!  The coolest thing about this is a few brilliant minds have translated the ROMs for your literary enjoyment!  You sooooo gotta check this out!

Kou's Reccomendations In Random Order

( Tales of Phantasia ) Okay, random order, I lied. Tales of Phantasia is soooo the coolest RPG! The Prequel to Tales of Destiny, (which coincidently is my favoritest game in the whole wide world) There is awesome music and hours of game time ahead of you!  Never released to North America, (well, maybe for PS but I don't think so) the wonderful world called DeJap.com has translated this beautiful piece of work for all you hardcore gamers out there!

( Magic Knight Rayearth RPG ) Totally cool, this RPG is based upon the anime series.  Great fun with lovable characters and awesome weapons and spells at your disposal.  Ferio is (at the the risk of sounding cheesy) the man and if you're anything like me, (God help you) you'll find yourself using the earrings just to catch a glimpse of his totally kick-ass-self.

( Sailor Moon RPG: Another Story ) All right, unless you're a Sailor Moon fan, you probably won't dig this game much.  I'm not finished with it yet, but it looks to be a fairly long game.  After a little while, the simple battle style and easy-as-hell-to- whoop-down enemies get a little tired.  However, the storyline is pretty killer.  Sailor Moon fans will definitely wanna give this a try.

( Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars ) Hell yeah! Now why couldn't all those Mario Bros. games be this cool?!  Mario is back in old skool RPG style!  Awesome new characters to use in battle (Geno, Mallow) and battle with (Booster *the totem pole guy*, the Smithy Gang)  as Mario totally makes fun of the traditional Video RPG hero in insisting on being mute. You pick up Mallow, a young frog, (who looks nothing like a frog, and isn't! But if you haven't played it I don't wish to spoil it for you)  Geno, a kick-ass doll, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser the mutant turtle and ultimate rival of Mario, himself, as allies! Yes, I said Bowser and Ally in the same sentence! You all join forces to return the seven stars to star road and stop the Smithy Gang from destroying Mario's world. Oh...and you'll also be helping Bowser get his Keep back while you're at it.

( Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest ) One of the best Final Fantasy games, even without the awesome graphics. It doesn't really have much in the way of a storyline but it gives you plenty to do and tons of kick ass spells.

( Final Fantasy V ) I have yet to finish this game but so far it rocks.  There is that annoying time gauge during battle that isn't present in the FF game above.  But despite this, the storyline is pretty stellar and the characters are likable.  The old guy provides comic relief which is much needed because of Lenna the Annoying girl in the party.  And the greatest character of all, (my opinion) Faris is really cool, but Girl Gamerz out there, take my advice and don't get too...uh, 'attached' to Faris.  You'll be sorely disappointed.  Experience speaks well.  I almost broke my keyboard.
