| I bought the TCI brackets from Hot
Rod Super Store I was a little disapointed with what i got
and what i paid for it. Here's
what the kit constists of. Just not much there for $130 plus shipping. They said brake pad spacers were transferable to new pads, but instead are just a couple strips of metal welded onto some stock pads. The recomended calipers were so big, they hit the coil springs even on a slight turn. I had no turning ability. I had to go with 69 Camaro calipers They did work well. i think the other company that makes brackets is Magnum. The only other option is to make your own, but that all takes time. Maybe I'll post a template and more detailed photo. 11" Granada rotors were used. I used a 69 Nova Master cylinder for manual disc brakes. Didn't feel the need for a power booster at this time . Brake pedal high and pedal pressure light. I ended up trying 3 different sets of springs. The lightest set available is what will work and provide a normal ride height. Dean at Hot Rods USA was good about taking the springs back and sending out a lighter set. The A arms are Heidts. Bought them and steering rack on Ebay from someone who started, but didn't finish their project. Spindles are used Mustang II. I had tried several brake experiments before on my stock front end before coming up with a good working combo. This was before all the kits came out. Here's what happened |
