**My Musical Theater Page**
This page is dedicated to the wonderful world of Musical Theater.  Let's just say I love musical theater.  Musicals are an addiction and always will be.  While my goals may lie a down a different path from Broadway, I still love to be surrounded by the sounds of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, Elton John, and all of the great composers/arrangers I might have missed.  For me, starring in a musical is a dream I've always had.  "Come on along and listen to, the lullabye of Broadway.  The hip hooray and ballyhoo, the lullabye of Broadway.." 42nd Street.
Musicals I've Seen
Les Miserables
Jesus Christ Superstar (Theater and movie versions)
The Music Man
Beauty and the Beast (on Broadway)
Cats (movie version)
Oklahoma! (movie version and BWAY VERSION!!!)
Evita (movie version)
Funny Girl (movie version)
Annie (Theater version)
La Centerola (An opera based on Cinderella)
Fiddler on the Roof (community theater :) )

Ok, so the movie versions shouldn't exactly count...but that's ok.  It's still musical related.
Personal Favorites
There are some musicals I just can't get enough of...

Evita-- A great female lead, a great guy narrator, triumph, power...what more could I want?
Jesus Christ Superstar-- A great musical, something you have to see twice to get the underlying meanings, I love how they put the Bible to music. I sorta like the old version better....
Les Miserables-- great songs and numbers, great singing, nice storyline, possibly my favorite of all time (that's a hard decision!)  I can pretty much sing the whole musical from memory...lol  :)
Phantom of the Opera-- I love the score to this musical, plenty of powerful lyrics too, musical theater heaven.
42nd Street-- Come on, I performed in my school's production, so it's up there on the list.  Comical scenes and great tapping.  Hehe
Cats-- Those people have you believing they're actually cats!  I love the music, even though the storyline is hard to follow at times.
Sound of Music-- I can see why this one gets on people's nerves..but I love it nonetheless.  The children can sing..and the love story...you decide.
Oklahoma! -- It has great songs and is a classic.  I can't wait until PHS does it this year!
Hairspray --  The soundtrack is amazing! Hopefully one day I'll see it live on Bway.
These are just a few favorites, although I've heard Thoroughly Modern Millie and Mamma Mia! are excellent to
o.
MY DREAM BROADWAY ROLES: Eponine or Cosette from Les Mis, Laurey from Oklahoma!, Mary Magdalene from Jesus Christ Superstar, Eva Peron from Evita, Christine Daae from Phantom of the Opera, Penny from Hairspray

FAVORITE MUSICAL ACTRESSES & ACTORS:  Matthew Broderick, Elaine Paige, Lea Solonga (sorry about spelling...I'm not good with names), Colm Wilkinson, Meredith Patterson, Betty Buckley, Sarah Brightman, Michael Crawford, Michael Ball, plus some others!!

MUSICALS I PLAN TO SEE SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE:  Aida, Hairspray,   Thoroughly Modern Millie....and the list continues lol

QUOTES: (This could be a long one...)
"
Without me, his world would go on turning, his world that's full of happiness that I have never known.." Les Mis
"Why are you obsessed with fighting?  Stick to fishing from now on." Jesus Christ Superstar
"Don't bring around a cloud, don't rain on my parade!" Funny Girl
"
..but you've got to come back a star!" 42nd Street
"
Jim, they didn't tell me you were here.  It was grand, grand, grand, of you to come!" 42nd Street (lol Julia, you were an awesome Peggy)
More coming soon!!

So that's about it.  More musical theater love coming soon.  Until then, enjoy the bright lights, stage, and sounds of Broadway

I saw Oklahoma! in NYC back in November.  It was absolutely fantastic!!!  The cast was amazing and after the show I got a picture with Ali Hakim, Ado Annie, and some of the kids from the cast.  It's a trip I'll never forget! :)
