Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

The cook made a few key changes to the traditional Toll House recipe on the bag
of chips, deleting the baking soda, adding soya powder. This makes a plump little
cookie that will stay soft if you remember to take it out of the oven early enough.
 
Cream together:
1 cup margarine
1 cup white sugar
� cup brown sugar
 
Add and mix:
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla (she used a glycerin-based vanilla)
 
Add and mix:
2 cups unbleached flour
1 tsp salt
� cup soya powder
 
Mix in by hand:
1 package 12 oz chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (finely chopped)
 
Spoon on to greased cookie sheets in smallish blobs and bake at 350 F for
10-12 minutes. Cool on a brown paper sack to reduce the grease.
