Shoreline Retriever Club
Annual Meeting
The Hawthorne Inn
Berlin, Connecticut
January 13, 2002

President Peter Krisak called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m. to the 27 members.   Peter thanked the membership for the opportunity to lead the club for the past two years and thanked the many individuals who helped in one capacity or another to make the club a success.  A moment of silence was held for the two long time members who past away this past year.

The Secretary’s report was distributed with the minutes from the 2001 Annual Meeting and was accepted as posted.

Bill McCourt handed out a detailed Treasurer’s report to those present and accepted a question and answer session to his report.  The club is in good shape going into 2002 as we took in more money than we had spent and the treasury stands with a balance of $14,568.76.  Bill mentioned that the dues notice would go out this week.  A motion to accept the Treasurer’s report was made, seconded, and accepted.

2nd Vice President, Joe Kuczynski reported on the success of the Sanctioned Field Trials.  The resources were very good this past year to handle the amount of entries.  Joe thanked Dawn Terrill, Jane Kondracki, Mary Sharkey, Joanne Mambrino, and Bob Walton for all their support in keeping the trials a good team effort and is looking forward to a successful coming year. A motion to accept Joe’s report was seconded and accepted.

Sunshine Report:  Kathy Walton sent a card from the club to the Gee’s on their recent loss of Lonnie’s mom.

License Hunt Test Report:  Terry Thomas reported on the very successful Hunt Test this past year and thanked all that were involved in putting on another great event. The Hunt Test was profitable this past year.  Terry’s report was accepted.

Licensed Field Trial: In the absence of Chairman Bob Meier, Pete Krisak reported that we ran a very successful trial and made a profit.

The Nominating Committee Chairman, Bob Walton, read a list of the Officers and Directors and the Secretary cast one vote to accept the slate as presented.  The membership then approved the following officers for 2002:
President – Arline Buchanan
1st Vice President – Robert Walton
2nd Vice President – Joe Kuczynski
Secretary – Peter Krisak
Treasurer – William McCourt
Directors – Jane Kondracki, Kathleen Krisak, Pete Plourde, & Sandi McCourt

Peter thanked Dawn for putting together the award program and with there being no old business or no new business the meeting was adjourned at 6:52p.m..  Pete turned over the awarding of club trophies to new President Arline Buchanan.  Arline stated that there would be 5 additional club meetings in 2002 held at the American Legion Hall in Glastonbury, CT.  The meetings will be held on the following Tuesdays:

March 26
May 28
August 27
October 29
November 26
All meetings will now be a combination of Board/General and will begin at 7:00p.m.

Arline is also looking for any new ideas or programs that might generate a higher attendance at the meetings.  Anyone with any ideas or suggestions may contact her.  Arline also mentioned an AKC Training Seminar for Hunt Test Judges, sponsored by the Southern Berkshire Retriever Club that will be held on March 16, 2002 at the Polish American Club in Feeding Hills, MA on rt. 57.  There will be a $50.00 fee to cover the cost of the seminar.

Some problems were encountered at West Thompson this past year and therefore there will be no camping allowed at the barn area during the Licensed Field Trial.  Arrangements are being made to have campers use the facility at West Thompson but there will be a fee per night per camper.

We are looking to have 2 people oversee the handling of birds at the trials.

Respectfully Submitted,

Kathleen M. Krisak, Secretary
