Bought the car at a dealer-only auction in March of 2000 for $3200. Needed a clutch ($800 installed), swaybar end links, tie rod ends (inner and outer), ball joints, cat-back (very rusty and holed), and a suspension. Had performance plus do a 60k on it and ever since it's been reliable. I have put 5000 miles on it since March, and love evry minute. |

I have drag raced, but my passion is autocross. I have been racing for 4 years and it's a blast. My car runs in street touring - street tire and at a recent event I placed second out of 10-15 cars. The SHO is not inherently competative and is not a car to driive on the autocross course. It reward a ver agressive driver, and one that is not too afraid to get the rear of the car working. My suggestion to anyone who wants to autocross a SHO is to overinflate your front tires to 42 psi, deflate the rears to 30, and go hunt some Probes. A SHO should be able to catch a probe on the autocross course with some driver skill. |
