| I bought the car in 1997 with 32,000 miles on it. I was not particularly looking for a performance car, but wanted a manual transmission and real seating for five. The Taurus SHO turned out to be about the only model to fit those wishes. We were back my birthplace --- Akron, Ohio --- for a wedding. On the way out of town, I grabbed three of those trader magazines so our three boys could keep entertained with car-shopping on the long trip home. On of them spotted the SHO. I ended up renting a car and driving back to Akron about a week later to pick it up. Still have the dealer plate and frame hanging in my garage as a touch of home. Now the SHO is a summer driver. I also use it for Solo II and hope to take in some track days next summer. Most of my work on the SHO has been aimed at improving handling and braking. It already goes fast enough to suit me. Its gotten to the point where the part in greatest need of an upgrade is the nut behind the wheel. This thing has become more car than I fully know how to control. So I am looking into driving schools. Oh, my other claim to fame is that Gentleman George Fourchy the The Lowrider once chased Abigail and me around Indianapolis Motor Speedway. |

| Milage: --56,000 miles Wheels and Tires: -- ATP brand, PT5 model, 17x7.5x38mm -- Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 in size 235-45-ZR17 -- Theyre an interesting design; cast aluminum with a polished stainless-steel surface bonded on. Poor mans chrome I suppose, but more durable. Check them out at http://www.atpruoteinlega.com/web/ProductsModelChrome.htm Interior: --Grey Leather (full), Moonroof Plans: Planned mods include a racing seat and harness. The stock leather seats are way too slippery in tight gates. I also want to powder-coat the intake. |
