24. A public school student on average costs the state and nation over $8000 a year according to the lastest department of statistics survey. Compared to the $4500 it costs to send a child through a year of private school. Consistantly, the private school pupils academically outperform public school students. And it seems the more money we throw away on these public schools, the worse results we get from the students.
