Last
June, Shayna was bred to Drew. This breeding produced one tri puppy, a girl we named Shofar's
Summer Song ("Shiri").
Shiri is living in Chicago now in a wonderful holistic agility home, and at
the time of this writing (4/02) she is 8 months old and taking over
the agility class she's in, as well as the brat pack of shelties into
which she landed. The breeding has been repeated,
and puppies should be due in early June, 2002.
Shofar
Shelties has a very limited breeding program. Our goals are to
produce holistically raised Shelties who are healthy, conform to the
breed standard, with unflappable temperments, and who love to work be
it in obedience, agility, herding, flyball, tracking, the breed ring
or as a service dog. Raised by a behaviorist/trainer in the house (we
don't have a kennel), the puppies are highly socialized, exposed to
many sounds, textures, situations, and footings. They are clicker
conditioned, leash broken, and crate trained before they go to a new
home, will be able to do puppy push-ups and may even know a trick or
two. We lay the groundwork for you to make the dog of your dreams.
We
stand behind our dogs, 100% (and that includes any rescues). If at
any time, for any reason, you become unwilling or unable to care for
the dog, then the dog must come back to us. We also support the
neutering of pet puppies as part of being a responsible pet owner,
and certain dogs may be sold on a limited registration or
co-ownership, depending on the individual situation.
