The Annual Winni Derby is a salmon tournament held each May on Lake
Winnipesaukee. This is another fishing weekend that has become an annual
must for the guys. Once again we get together and enjoy the company of
good friends, the majestic scenery that surrounds us, and the frustrations
of long days spent trolling aimlessly through cold wind and rain, in search
of the ever elusive landlocked salmon. The "ice-out" fishing season is usually
accompanied by periods of cold winds, rough lake conditions and rain. Tom will once again inform us of the conditions on the lake.These
conditions represent golden opportunities for the salmon fisherman. Action
during this time can be fantastic! Unfortunately, there are times when the
action is less than ideal and mixed with the typical weather conditions,
can result in the occasional disgruntled fisherman (no strange situation to
this group of fishermen).
