The father to Keith is none other than "The Shoe" Kenny Shoemaker, the 1958 & 1965 Fonda Speedway track champion. Ken scored 54 career wins at the Track of Champions, with his first one coming in October of 1955 and his last came 20 years later. He sits 4th all time in wins at Fonda as well. Ken had built himself up a reputation as one of the toughest racers in the history of Fonda Speedway. He spent the last years of his life writing a book with Lew Boyd titled, "They Called Me The Shoe".  He was a driver labled as a 'hired gun' running for the Caprara's #37, Henry Caputo/Chris Drello's #111 for 5 years. He drove 3 years in the Wright/Zauntner #24 just to name a few......
