Gender stereotypes and what happens

Living up to gender stereotypes in the mass media is harmful for young women and men because if everyone lives up to these stereotypes, they could abuse it by saying it in the public or the school. If the media doesnt stop making advertisements about gender stereotypes, next thing you know, everyone would learn it. They could use it in a negative way and could cause violence to happen. If you grow up and become a man or a woman and you still use the terms of the gender stereotypes, you could get dumped or get fired from your job. It could ruin your reputation. The media deceives people to learning these cruel and foul gender stereotypes.

Gender stereotypes imported from the media could be easier to learn than someone saying it, since more people watch TV than learning in school. Not many people use the stereotypes in the public or in someones face, but I hear and see a lot of advertisements that has to do with the stereotypes in the media. Most ads that use the stereotypes pick one gender as the dominant one and the other one not so dominant. The dominant ones are usually the men, since most ads think that men are the stronger of the genders and women the weaker of the genders. The media imports the gender stereotypes in their ads just because they want to attract more people. They dont know one thing about this. Little kids could easily influence the stereotypes. They could learn it very easily.

The media is not an organization that do fair things or say the right things for the consumers. Sometimes the media gives us false information to make us buy their product. The media could be very dangerous at times. Most of the times, they cant be trusted at all. They use gender stereotypes to mostly attract the consumers and you wont even know the difference at all. The media could also brainwash people in doing or saying things that they dont want to. That could be a real big problem. They might remember it for the rest of their lives. That could really mess up the persons life. If they keep using the stereotypes, they could use it in a messy way and could make your life miserable.

In the media, there are many things they dont tell you that could be harmful to you. They use the gender stereotypes to make the product that could harm you, cool. An example is the smoking ads. They use women half-naked to attract other people to smoke. They make the men look so cool and get women just because they are smoking. The ad doesnt even tell you the truth of smoking, and even if they do, they put it in the bottom with a small print in it. This way, the consumers wont know the negative side of the ad and tells all the false positive side of it. Gender stereotypes used in the smoking ads are saying that men are powerful and women are used to attract people. The media could really damage a person.

From now on, I dont think anyone should use gender stereotypes in anything, not in advertisements, in the public nowhere to be exact. If this keeps happening, it would get passed on and on. If this keeps happening, everyone would know about the gender stereotypes about each and every gender. If you ever use and gender stereotypes, learn them, and get caught, your life would stink!
