| Jonathan T. All Five memory works Memory Work #1 One of my first memories was when my mom was still pregnant with my smallest brother, Justin. While that was that, my brother, Kenneth, my parents, aunt, and I went to the movie theatre. We watched the movie called, Santa Claus. It was a weird movie about Christmas. I remembered that the Santa Claus was Tim Allen. He was real funny. In the beginning of the show, he wanted to buy a toy for his son in Christmas. He couldnt, so he got a job to become a Santa Claus. He did what he was told and at the end, he got a toy for his son. After the movie, I touched my mothers stomach and I felt my baby brother inside. It was moving. A few weeks later or a month, my mom had my smallest brother. My mom named her, Justin. When he was born, he was so cute. I loved my brother at first sight. When he was little, he used to kiss me a lot and say brother in chinese. It was kind of funny how he said it because it didnt sound like how I said it at all. He looked so much like me and my dad. My parents say that my brother, Justin and I have the same looks as my dad. It was real funny though. Later on, when my parents told me who was who, I mixed up me and my youngest brother. I said I was my younger brother and my younger brother was I! Another memory was when I was playing for the first time in my whole entire life. At first, I used a tennis ball as a basketball. My dad threw the tennis ball at me for me to catch, but instead I didnt catch it and it bounced on my head. I wasnt really good and my aunt took care of me a lot. She took care of me when I was crying, needing to change the diapers, plays with me when Im bored, etc. She is my favorite aunt in the whole world. She cares for me a lot when I was playing basketball and all the other sports. I was only about 2 years old or 3 years old when that happened. Now, since she has a baby, I would do the same for her baby. That was my earliest memory. It was also a happy early memory. Memory Work #2 When he was in elementary school, he thought he wanted to be a computer genius because he loved playing with the internet and playing video games because it was so fun to him. He thought it would be fun, since he could make his own computer, keyboards, mouse, etc. He thought it was going to be easy just making the computer. Also, he thought that the computer was easy to handle when he was little. He wanted to create games so he could earn more money and play more games. When he was little, he spent most of the time with the computer. Second is television, though. He was a kid who wouldnt get off the computer unless his parents have a good explanation for it. Those were one of his earliest memories. People who were with him were his two brothers. They would watch him play the computer for the whole day. He remembered that he hogged the whole damn computer. His brothers wanted to play but he always said, NO! He was kind of mean when he was young. He was selfish and cruel, but now he shares. His dad would be there and told him to get off the freaken computer. He wouldnt, unless they would tell him like a million times to get off the computer. He asked his parents could he become a computer technician, but they said only if you tried hard enough. His parents said that if he played too much computer or hogged it, his parents said that he cant be a computer technician. He did what his parents said and he didnt play that much and he thought to himself every time that he would wish to become a computer technician. He dreamed that he made his own computer, and makes his own video game for it. Those were the days. What happened was that he tried real hard to become a computer technician. He asked his dad about what he supposed to do when he becomes a computer technician. His dad said that you have to clean the computer. When he was young, he thought that cleaning the computer means dusting it off, but the real way was saying that you suppose to do maintenance, disk cleanup, and all that stuff. He was confused, but he tried to do what his dad said. Then his dad taught him how to really clean up the computer and told him how to use the microsoft stuff. He didnt really remember what happened to the weather, since most of the time I was thinking of all this stuff, he was inside the house just playing and cleaning up the computer. The weather was either sunny, windy, rainy, snowy, etc. The weather was mostly fine, though. Who he was speaking to was his dad, since he thought that his dad knew everything about computers. He was speaking to him a lot about computers, since he loved them and he wanted to be a computer technician when he grew up. He kept asking his dad what is this, what is that, how do you do that, etc. His dad answered a lot of those questions, but he was still very puzzled of what he said. Then, he told him to speak English. His dad did and he understands what he was talking about. From then on, he knew what to do most of the time. His dad showed him most of the things from computers when he was young. What he heard was his dads instructions on telling him what to do when this happens or when that happens. He heard his dad trying to teach him more about computers. He felt many things. He felt the computer, mouse, keyboard, CD-ROM, monitor, etc. When he touched the CD and he saw what game it is, he was excited to try the new game. He smelled and tasted nothing. He wont smell and taste the computer or something like that. His dad said that if he wanted to be a computer technician, he could help any of his uncles who love computers. His dad said if he grew a little older, he could get some money and also learn when he works with his uncle. His dad said that he had to pay close attention and really participate or else he wouldnt know what either of my uncles would be talking about because his dad said computers are pretty complicate to understand. In conclusion, when he got older, he wanted to be a computer technician less and less. He wanted to make a game more now, since he played so many games and played them. He could get some of the ideas and put them in a game, when he gets to make one. He would be so excited. His dad used to teach him about computers when he was young, but now, he takes extra-curricular activities. Ms. Chu teaches him about computers now. Memory Work #3 In this memory, this is about what his parents wanted me to be when he was growing up. His parents were there with him when they told him what they wanted him to be. They wanted him to be a computer technician, since his parents said that he could be whatever he wanted. His parents said many things about computers since they want him to be a computer technician. His parents were there every time he needed help. He always trusted his parents, no matter the consequences. His brothers were also there, when his brothers needed help for the computers. What happened was that his dad helped him all the times to help his son to achieve that level. His dad tried his hardest to help his son and achieve the goal for him. He also tried real hard to achieve the level. He worked as hard as he can to achieve the goal. He also wanted to become a computer technician too. That is why he is trying so hard. Also what happened was that what he learned from his parents about the computer things were that he taught his little brothers about it too. He thought that it would be a good idea for him to teach his younger brothers, so they could learn some things about the computer and how they work, also what to do when this or that happens. He thought that he could become a computer technician when he grows up. He said that he was faith in himself. He doesnt really remember what the weather was really like, since all this computer stuff were in the inside of the house. It was never outside to do this. We dont really know about the weather. The weather was fine sometimes. Also windy, rainy, snowy, etc. The weather, he wasnt really quite sure what has happened. Who he spoke to was his parents and his brothers. His parents spoke to him because he wanted to become a real good computer technician. He wanted to be the best in the world and to help anybody who needs help on the computers. He also wanted to learn all this stuff, so when he grows older, he knows what to do when his computer has something wrong in it. He would know what to do and how to solve it. He spoke to his brothers because he wanted to tell his brothers what he had learned and how to deal with some problems that happen or how to use the microsoft programs, etc. What he heard was his parents speaking to him and why they wanted him to become a technician. He heard his parents talking to him on how to deal with this problem, how to use microsoft word, etc. He heard his parents trying to tell him how to fix something that has happened to the computer. What he felt was the computer keyboard, monitor, mouse, controls, etc. What he smelled and tasted was nothing. Who would want to smell or taste the computer? You cant do that to a computer. Memory Work #4 His scariest memory was definitely September 11, 2001. It shocked him and scared him at the same time. It was a scary moment for a lot of people in the whole world who knew about the incident. Who was there were his classmates. They were all inside the school in spanish class. His teachers were also there, too. His spanish teacher was talking about spanish. Where he was were was in the school. As he said, he was in spanish class. He was in the school M.A.T. that time. He never knew that this day would be a special day for many people. It was a bright sunny day. He didnt know what was happening outside the city and the world. He wasnt even thinking about it. His spanish class started and it was only about 8.40. A few minutes later, his assistant principal, Tarry, came in his class and said that a plane accidentally crashed into the world trade center. We were calm because we didnt think anything bad was going to happen. He continued his session in spanish class. Later on, he heard this loud, BOOM!!! He thought it was a truck passing by since it sounded like a truck passing by. He didnt really know what was really happening outside. It was about 8:50 or 9.00A.M. A few minutes later, his assistant principal came in again and said that another plane has crashed into the world trade center. He didnt think it was that serious either. It was about 10:10 when he went to his humanities class. His humanities teacher, Cricket, was feeling sad and listening to the radio. She said that the math/science teacher and she went outside when they heard the bang. They saw the world trade center on fire that time. She said she felt shocked that time. She thought that this couldnt be happening but it is. He and his classmates continued to listen to the radio. It was about 10:15 or 10:20A.M. When he heard that one of the twin towers had collapsed. That was the time that really frightened him. He knew his mom and his two brothers were safe, but he didnt know about my dad and my relatives. He was thinking that his dad drove through the world trade center and got caught in it. His heard was pounding so hard that I could almost feel it with my bare body. He never expected the twin towers to fall at all. He never wouldve guessed or hoped that this kind of day would actually come true. He also heard that the second tower collapsed at about 10:30 A.M. At about 11:00 or 11:10A.M, his father and aunt picked him up. When he got home, his mom was already at home and watching the tv. His mom said that another plane has crashed in the pentagon. He knew that this was really bad day. He was trying to think that it was a dream, but it isnt. It was about 11 something when he heard that another plane has crashed in Pennsylvania. He knew that it isnt good at all. He was thinking that it would be the worst day in his entire life. When this happened, he smelled a lot of smoke and bad air. He thinks this is because of the smell from the twin towers. He felt and touched his fathers hand. He was gripping it tightly because he was scared and frightened. He tasted nothing when this happened. He wasnt hungry and thirsty for days. He thinks that America should stay strong and stay united. Memory Work #5 He had a lot of happy memories in my old days, but he would only pick one. One of his happiest memories was going to Dorney Park in Pennsylvania. It was so fun. He rode in all different kind of rides. It is like one of the best amusement park he has ever been on. Who was there in the amusement park with him were his cousins, brothers, parents, aunt, uncle, his dads uncle, his grandma, etc. It was like a family reunion in a theme park though. They were all so fun to play with in the park. They were cool when we went on each ride with each other. Where he was, was in Dorney park. It is a theme park with all different kinds of rides in there. A lot of things happened. First, he went to the water theme park. It was also part of Dorney Park except there were water rides instead of regular roller coasters. He went on only 1 water ride. It was like waves coming to you. It made his go back even though he wanted to go front. After going on the ride, he was going to eat his lunch. He ate some of his food and it tasted delicious. His brother and uncle made the sandwiches. When he was done eating his lunch, he wanted to go on a roller coaster ride called Talon. It was a loopy loop roller coaster. Your feet would hang down and you would go on loops, corkscrews, barrel rolls, etc. He thought the first drop made his heart pump a lot. He thought that the ride was fun and long. He loved long and scary roller coasters. When he finished the ride, he wanted to go on the roller coaster that went super down. It would make your heart pump a lot. He didnt get to go because his dad wanted to go on the dominator but he was too scared to go on it. When his dad and his cousin were about to go to the roller coaster that goes on a steep dive, he was already on another ride, so he didnt get to go. He really wanted to go but he didnt really care anymore. When he was finished riding a lot of rides, it was about 7:00 p.m. He needed to go to his rented house. He thought that it was one of the best days in his entire life. The weather was very sunny and it was a nice day to have fun. It got a little cloudy sometimes. Once, it looked like it was about to rain or something. He spoke a lot to his cousins and his who family. He also talked to some of his relatives. He spoke to everyone on the trip. He smelled the sandwiches. The fine turkey, lettuce and tomatoes. The mayonnaise and the ketchup in the fine sandwich he was eating and munching on. He heard the clunk clunk clunk on the roller coaster when he was going up. He also heard the screams on the roller coaster. He heard people screaming like crazy. He remembered when he touched the roller coaster and when he felt the safety of it. He tasted the sandwich and was it good. It was such a delicious sandwich he ate. |
