Although we had only met one day before, Shobhana and I had been in the process of mutual discovery from worlds apart through the wonders of modern communication for months.
On the morning of February 10th, less than twelve hours after arriving in India, Shobhana and I, and our respective parents met at the home of my father's friend, Dr. Prem Dubey, in Ghaziabad, U.P. (on the border of New Delhi).
After spending the afternoon together, accompanied by Dr. Dubey's daughter, Urvashi, and my cousin Pooja, Shobhana and I returned to inform our parents that we were both willing to proceed *gulp!* with marriage.
Wasting absolutely no time whatsoever, our parents ran with the baton and set our Engagement for the following evening at the residence of our family friend, Mr. M.P. Mehrotra....
