| This is called 'Drain The Earth' . I had it printed out recently..5m long! Its like endless pipes stuck right into the heart of the earth, right into the magma and endlessly taking, taking. Its reworked from my own photography. |

| This one is a bit hard to see clearly but this was also printed out five metres long and nearly a metre wide. Its title is 'The Hills' and like 'Drain The Earth' is from my recent body of work based on the theme title 'Maddening Repetition' ....Its a hazy morning you wake up or just go outside after being up all night and before you is the sight of what humans have done and will always continue to do. We start things like roads and industry which cause death over and over again and we spread out into every part of the earth. This work is where I vent my own angst when I see things that represent how I'm thinking or feeling reflected in natures' struggle to coexist with us. The way an animal is knocked down and disintegrates is not an altogether different fate to our own. The dark and quite of night, where the deed is done will only be replaced by the irreparable scene illuminated at first light and the only time we make any retribution to anything or anyone is in the retoric that feeds on hindsight..... |
