Who Is This Corinne Person, and Why Should I Care?
Ok so I'm Corinne (a.k.a. Cori, Crin, Crayon, Corn, Cornelius, Cowinne, General Cornwallis, Corikins, Shnigglady, and TRF, to name a few...) I'm a relatively unexciting person with enough time on her hands to make a webpage. I graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia this past June, and am now attending Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York.
I'm a theatre techie. No, not an actor. Techie. I do lighting, set design and construction, stage managing, directing, and even some gripping. I teched 7 mainstage shows for TJ Drama at my old high school, and then worked on Lake Braddock's tech for the remainder of my high school career, with a few visits to good old Jefferson on the side. I helped with lights at the Little Theatre of Alexandria this past summer, which was a nice relief from my two part-time jobs, at a gastroenterologist's office and a children's consignment store. Now I do tech for Vassar's myriad productions, in both the Department and Unbound. Also, I have a job as a Media Resources Technician, which means I get paid to project movies for the film classes. Good stuff.
As we continue down our list of tantalizing Corinne-trivia, we find that I am obsessed with Ultimate Frisbee. As in, have disc, will play. Anytime, anyplace, with anyone. I'm currently a co-captain of Vassar's startup Women's Ultimate team, the Amazons. Which isn't as impressive as it sounds since we have very few members and no money for uniforms or transportation to tournaments. But we love the game, and we play hard. And that's what counts, no?
Ok, there's one other cool thing I thought worthy of a separate page: the summer pre-college program at Brown University. If you weren't there you probably couldnt care less. Hell, even if you were chances are you wont be impressed. But it exists, all the same.
And now, since my friend Nick! simply won't stop yelling at me for not ever updating this page, I've decided to add a really boring/cliched "Likes/Dislikes" page. Don't blame me, I'm just yielding to peer pressure. So Nick!?, I sure hope you're happy...
