Picture of my heart

Chapter one

“Why are we the one to follow her?” Anita the blonde girl with green eyes asked. “Her parents asked us to and besides, we get to go to Ireland for free,” Olive replied. Olive had short crimson hair and cute freckles. “What are you two babbling about behind me?” Creole asked as she turned back facing Anita and Olive. Creole has a body of a model; she has long silky black hair and dimples as she smiles. “N… nothing Creole!” Anita quickly answered waving her hand in front of her lips. “Well then, hurry up or we’ll be late,” Creole replied as she quickens her steps. “I shouldn’t have gave her that book on her birthday,” Anita told Olive. “Painting for dummies?” she replied. “Yeah, now she’s obsessed and wants to go to Ireland to paint,” Anita continued. “Well, you can’t get that much things to draw in a city now, would you?” Olive said back. Anita kept quiet as both of them tried to catch up with Creole.

“Great, they get to sit with each other and I have to sit with a total stranger,” Creole thought. “Anyone wants to switch places?” she asked as she turned behind towards Anita and Olive. They shake their head silently. “Party-pooper,” she continued. “This must be my place,” a guy said as he lifted his bag to put into the compartment above. Creole looked at the guy then suddenly blushed. The guy had short brunette hair, hazel brown eyes and totally cute. “Hello,” he said with a smile. “Hi,” Creole replied softly. “Hey, Olive, look! That guy is totally cute, god damn it! Why didn’t I switch places when I got the chance to?” Anita complained. “I’m Shane Filan,” the guy introduced himself. “Creole Hendricks,” she replied. Creole began talking happily with Shane while Anita and Olive sat behind her filled with envy.

“So, what brings you to Ireland?” he asked. “I wanted to paint the sceneries of Ireland, I heard that it has a very beautiful countryside,” she replied. “Yes it does, I’m from Ireland myself, it’s a really beautiful country,” he told Creole. This remark made Creole fell much more impatient of reaching Ireland. “I wanted to paint the sceneries of Ireland,” Anita mimicked Creole with a funny tone, Olive giggled lightly. “Ughh… I can’t stand it anymore,” she said as she stood up. “Creole, do you have any more bottles of water? Oh my, what have we got here? Hi, I’m Anita,” she interrupted Creole and Shane. Creole then suddenly felt annoyed. “Go away Anita,” she said. “I’m Shane, you two are friends?” he asked. “Why yes we are,” Anita continued. “So am I,” Olive stood up and said. “I’m Olive Peterson,” she introduced herself. “Nice to meet you,” Shane said. Creole was getting much more annoyed. “Here’s the bottle of water, nice to meet you and goodbye,” Creole said quickly as she tossed the bottle of water, which hits Anita on her face and pushed Olive away. “Well then, where were we?” Creole said looking at Shane with a smile on her face. Shane sat there stunned at their behaviour. He let out a nervous smile.

Finally the flight ended and they finally arrived at the airport in Dublin. “It was nice meeting you Creole, Anita and Olive, hope to meet you in the near future,” Shane said as he waved goodbye at them. Creole waved happily while Anita had one hand waving and the other holding a tissue over her nose and Olive with a small neck ache. “Let’s go,” Creole said. “Very well,” both Anita and Olive said in a sad tone. Soon, Olive and Anita were much more high-spirited when they saw all the fancy boutiques and shopping centres around Dublin. “This is great! Where are we going to stay?” Olive said. “Sligo, they have the most beautiful countryside in Ireland,” Creole said. “WHAT! We’re not staying in Dublin?” Anita shouted. “C’mon, here’s a taxi,” she said as she got into the taxi. Olive and Anita fell much more sadder and went into the taxi. They then left for Sligo.

Chapter two

“You didn’t even book for a hotel?” Anita and Olive said in unison. Creole just sat silently on the park bench staring at her feet. “What are we going to do now? I don’t want to sleep on the road,” Anita complained. “Could we grab something to eat first? I’m hungry,” Olive said. All of their stomach growled loudly. “Very well…” Anita said while she got up from the bench. “I think I saw a restaurant nearby,” she continued and leaded the way with Olive and Creole behind her. “Carlton Café, sounds good,” Olive, said as she grabbed Anita and Creole’s hand and dragged them in. They sat in the corner of the café and went through the menu on the table. An elderly women came over, “Welcome to Carlton’s, what can I get you girls?” she asked sweetly. “I would like to have the spaghetti, mushroom soup, salad, fries and chips please, and oh! A cup of ice lemon tea too!” Olive quickly said. Anita and Creole just stared at Olive. “I… I’ll have the spaghetti and a cup of cold water,” Creole said. “And I’ll have the chicken chop and coke please,” Anita ordered. “Very well, just wait for a moment okay?” she said. “So, what do we do now?” Anita asked after the woman left. “We have no room and I’m tired,” Olive said. “Why don’t we look for someone to rent us a room?” Creole suggested. “Stay in a total stranger’s house?” Anita said furiously. “We... uhh... could look for a woman’s residence?” Creole continued. “And what do you mean by that?” Olive replied. “Look for uhhh... a woman to rent... us... a room?” Creole said nervously. “Creole, sometimes you could just be plain pain in the butt,” Anita said. “Here’s your drinks, watch out,” a familiar voice said. “Creole look at the person and blushed. “Shane!” Anita shouted. “Huh? Anita? Olive? Creole?” Shane said as he saw the three girls. “Oh! Goody goody goody!” Olive said happily like a child. “Hi Shane,” Creole greeted. “Hey how did you gals end up here?” he asked. “Creole here had us book a taxi but ended up here with no place to stay,” Anita explained. “Why don’t you stay in my house? We have plenty of rooms there,” Shane suggested. “Really?” Anita said with a lighten up face. “No, we can’t do that,” Creole replied. Anita looked furiously at her. “It’s no biggie,” Shane said, “I’ll just ask my parents,” he continued as he walked away towards his parents. “C’mon Creole, we could at least pay them as if it’s rented to us,” Olive told her. “I... guess you’re right,” Creole replied. Moments later, their food arrived with good news along. “They agreed, I’ll show you to the house once your done,” Shane said. “How much is the rent?” Creole asked. “Oh, no rent,” he said with a smile. “No! I can’t do that, at least let me do something back as a return,” she said. “Well then, we’re kinda short on waitresses,” he said. “I’ll take it!” Creole quickly said. “Sure,” Shane replied. “Ittadakimasu!” Olive said loudly and quickly gulped in all the food. “It… ta… dak e… mas?” Shane said confusedly. “Oh, it’s one of Olive’s obsession… Japanese, you say that before eating,” Creole replied. “Oh… okay, I won’t bother you anymore then,” Shane replied. “Thank you,” Creole said while blushing.

“Here’s my house,” Shane said as all four of them arrived to his house. “It’s huge!” Olive said with amazement. “I have 3 other brothers and sisters,” Shane told them. “That makes 8 people staying in your house?” Anita said with shock. “Yeah, but most of them are married and staying in their own houses,” Shane explained as he opened the door. “Welcome in,” he continued. Shane showed them to the rooms they will be staying in and later they decided on going for a walk. They arrived at the countryside and were amazed by the scenery. The clouds made a mountain like shape with its rich colours and the greenery of the mountains made by the grasses, which were covered by little yellow flowers. Anita and Olive went on to the grass and played like little children. “My Nan used to tell me that the sky is infinitely high and crystal clear, which I’m still trying to guess what it means,” Shane told Creole. Creole stared at the skies; the wind was blowing towards her, which made her feel so good. “Shane… what did you want to be when you were small?” Creole asked. “Huh? Hmmm… I always wanted to be a singer,” he said. “A singer?” Creole said giggling. “I think I have a knack for it, and I have interest in it, you don’t go around doing something you don’t like, people do things they love and they put lots of interest in it,” Shane said. “So, if you want to be something you love to, don’t give up on it,” he continued with a smile. Creole smiled and was amazed at what he said. Suddenly there was a flash. “Anita!” Creole shouted at her. Anita had just taken a picture of both of them. “For memories,” she said with a smile. “Why don’t you take a picture of this place, you can paint it later,” Olive told Creole. “You’re right, Anita, the camera please,” Creole shouted. Anita threw the camera and was caught by Creole. She then look for a beautiful spot and took a picture of it. Shane brought them to all the places he knows which has beautiful sceneries, and Creole was amazed by all of it. By the end of the day, they arrived home. “Shane, do you mind doing me a favour?” Creole asked. “What is it?” he replied. Creole threw the roll of negatives to him. “Sure,” Shane continued.

Chapter three

The next day, all the three girls were helping out at the café. Creole and Anita were waitresses while Olive was working behind in the kitchen cooking. It was their very first time but they were good at it. Soon, two cute guys came in, a blonde and a black haired one. “Hey Shane!” the blonde one called out to him. “Kian! Mark!” he replied excitedly. “And you didn’t even bothered to call us when you arrived,” said the brunette, which was Mark. “Sorry lads, I was busy yesterday,” he explained. “Your mom said you were serving some guests, who were they?” Kian asked. “Uhhh… Shane, a little help, Please!” Anita called trying to balance the trays on both her hands. Shane hurried to her side and took one of the trays. “Thanks,” she said with relief. “Hello,” Kian greeted. “How awkward to meet such a pretty girl here,” he continued. Anita looked at him disgustingly; she had never liked guys with bad pickup lines. “And how awkward to meet such a moron,” she replied and continued to serve the food. “What?” Kian said angrily. “Uhhh… meet Anita,” Shane said nervously. “Idiot…” Kian whispered. Shane then led them into the kitchen where Creole and Olive were. “Creole, Olive, meet Kian and Mark,” Shane introduced them. All of them greeted each other. “These are your friends?” Creole asked. “Yeah, since we were young,” Shane answered. “Where did you all meet?” Kian asked. “On the flight here,” Olive said. “What a cute apron, is it yours?” Mark asked Olive. “Why yes, I love cooking, so I bring my apron anywhere I go,” she replied. Her apron was pink with a picture of ‘Hello Kitty’. Even her hairband and earrings are the same. Mark seemed to be in interest with Olive. “Hey, why don’t we go for dinner tonight? All of us together,” Shane suggested. “Yeah! Great idea,” Mark quickly answered. “Is that girl going to be there?” Kian asked pointing at Anita who was still serving food.”What’s wrong with Anita?” Creole asked. “Oh... nothing,” Shane quickly told her. “Well then, where should we go?” Mark asked. “I can cook! Why don’t we have it in Shane’s house?” Olive said. “Yeah! I’m looking forward in tasting your food,” Mark quickly accepted. “Very well then, how about 7?” Shane asked. “Perfect,” Mark said again. “You seem very interested in it don’t you?” Kian groaned. Mark just kept silent. Anita was at the door as she cleared her throat loudly. Everyone looked at her. “Coffee break was over an hour ago, we have more customers now, do you mind?” she said sarcastically. “Sorry Ann, 7 o’clock tonight then,” Creole said. “Yup, looking forward to it,” Kian said. “To what?” Anita asked. “To nothing,” Kian replied. “I didn’t ask you, moron,” she shot back. “Wasn’t talking to you either,” Kian replied and walked out. “Ohhh.... I’m gonna get that guy!” Anita fired up. “Let’s get back to work!” Shane said streching his arms. “Yeah,” Creole said so did Olive. “Hey! What’s at 7? Hey! I’m gonna kill you guys if you don’t tell me!” Anita said furiously.

“I totally oppose to this!” Anita shouted. “Ann... this is not your house, so don’t shout so loud,” Creole said, trying on some clothes for tonight. “I’ll shout whenever I want to!” she shouted again. “Tell me again, why are you opposing to this?” Creole asked her. “That moron’s going to be here!” she shouted again. “Who’s the moron?” “That blonde idiot!” “Kian?” “Whatever his name is...” Anita replied not shouting anymore. “What did he do?” Creole asked. “Some stupid pickup line,” she said. “Oh? What did he say?” “How awkward or something to see you here,” Anita continued as she mimics Kian. “Ann... you can’t just blame someone for trying to start a conversation, by the way, does this look good on me?” Creole asked picking up a blue shirt. “Yeah... but he could at least start a conversation by just saying hello,” “Is not his fault for trying to talk to you,” “Ohh... what do YOU care?” Anita shouted again stomping out the room madly. “You’re the one who came into my room complaining,” Creole whispered back.

Chapter four

“How’s the cooking?” Creole asked as she stepped into the kitchen. “Fine, everything’s going the way I wanted to,” Olive told her, still mixing some things. “Need some help?” Creole offered. “Oh... no no no, I’m fine here,” she replied. “Go outside for a walk... I’m fine here,” she continued. “Very well...” Creole said dissapointedly. She walked out through the backdoor into the yard behind the house. She walked over to the table under a shady tree and noticed her drawing block. “Must have left it here,” she told herself as she sat on the bench. She opened the book and looked at the pictures she’s drawn. Each picture has a photo clipped at the top right of the page. Both the painting and the picture was really alike proving that Creole was really talented in it, and she’s really into it. There was also the photos she had taken when she arrived, so is the picture of her and Shane together looking at the skies. “Ohhh... how romantic,” she said to herself, blushing. “What’s romantic?” someone said from behind her. The moment this happened, she got the shock of her life and stumbled from the bench. However, she didn’t fall to the ground, instead, in the arms of someone she has last expected... Shane. Suddenly there was a flash, “Another kodak moment,” Anita said laughing and running away. “Anita!” Creole shouted still in Shane’s arms. “Oh... Shane... I...” Creole mumbled, once she noticed she was in his arms and quickly got up. “Are you alright?” he asked. “Uhh... oh! Yes, I am,” she said blushing. Shane helped her up. “You look great,” he said with a smile. “Oh? Hehe... thanks,” she said blushing even more. “What were you doing?” he asked looking at the table and picked up her drawing block. “Oh... those are my drawings,” she told him. “May I?” he asked. Creole allowed him to. The moment Shane opened the book, his face was lighten up. “These are beautiful,” he said. “Really? Thanks!” she said replied, appreaciating those words. “Have you ever drawn a person?” he asked. “Actually... no, I’ve never had,” she replied. “Too bad, I really wanted to see you drawing of someone,” Shane said as he flipped the pages. “Creole! Shane! The guests are here!” Olive shouted from the kitchen. “Okay! We’ll be right over,” Shane shouted back. “C’mon, let’s go,” he continued and held Creole’s hand and leaded her to the house. She blushed as her heart skipped a beat.

“Hello, how nice to see you again,” Anita said to Mark as she opened the door. As Kian was about to step in, Anita closed the door. “Hey!” he shouted back. The door then reopen with Anita at the other side, “Oh! You’re here to? I didn’t notice you,” Anita lied. “Bitch,” Kian whispered and stepped in. “Where’s Mark? Ate him up? You should excercise more,” Kian said to Anita. “Why you...” Anita said flaming up. And soon, the war of names between Kian and Anita started. Mark however was already in the kitchen where Olive is, he didn’t seem to care what was going on between Kian and Anita. “Hi Olive,” Mark said happily. “Dog breath!” Anita shouted. “Hello Mark, you’re looking great,” Olive replied. “Fat pig!” Kian shouted back. “Thanks, the food smells good in here,” Mark told her. “Noodle brain!” Anita shouted again. “Thank you, I sure hope the food taste good,” Olive replied. “Queen of ice!” Kian shouted back. “Here, I have something for you,” Mark said and held a box that was wrapped. “King of sorrow!” Anita shouted. “You shouldn’t have, it’s not even my birthday,” Olive said and took the box. “Queen of loneliness,” Kian shouted. “It’s something like a friendship present, open it,” Mark replied with a smile. “King of bad pickup lines,” Anita shouted back. Not hesitating, Olive quickly opened the box, “Oh! Hello Kitty hair clips!” Olive said happily and quickly put them on, “It’s perfect! I’ve been looking for these clips my whole life, thanks Mark!” Olive said and kissed him on the lips. “Queen of the damned!” Kian shouted. “Oh sorry, sometimes I get too excited I do things that I can’t control,” Olive said with a smile. Mark however was standing blankly and suddenly blood came out from his nose and soon he fainted. “MARK!” Olive shouted. “Hey! Someone! I need help!” Olive shouted again. Soon, Anita and Kian came into the kitchen and saw Olive fanning Mark who was unconscious on the floor. “My god, what happened?” Anita asked. “I accidentally kissed him, and then blood came out from his nose and then… he fainted!” Olive explained. “Oh… no,” Kian replied.

Chapter five

Shane and Creole soon arrived at the house and saw Olive, Anita and Kian surrounding a couch. “What happened?” Shane asked. “Mark fainted,” Olive told them. “What happened?” Creole now asked. “Olive kissed him,” Anita replied. Creole and Shane stared at each other and started laughing. “What’s so… funny…?” Kian said and suddenly notices them holding hands. “You two are holding hands! Wow! Are you two now officially lovers?” Kian said loudly pointing. Shane and Creole suddenly realised and quickly let go of each other’s hands. “Ooo… you two are secretly in love with each other?” Anita said cheekily. “Shut up Anita,” Creole said. “Why do birds suddenly appear” Anita started to sing the song that was sung by The Carpenters, 'Close to you’. “Every time… you are near…” Kian continued. “Just like me… they longed to be,” Anita continued the song. “Close to you…” Kian and Anita sang in unison. Shane and Creole then blushed deep red. “Aren’t you two a couple too? Singing the song together,” Shane said. “What? Me and that moron?” Anita shouted back. “Hey, watch what you’re saying,” Kian shot back. “Shut up moron,” Anita replied and soon the war started again. “God no…” Creole said softly covering her ears.

The dinner went pretty well, except for the fact that Kian and Anita ended up in a food fight and that Olive cried because her food had gone to waste, but Mark on the other hand, was happy because he had a chance to comfort Olive and didn’t mind having pieces of tissue up his nostrils. Creole and Shane however ate in silence. They were still shy to each other since the holding hands incident. In the end, Mr and Mrs Filan put them on punishment because of Kian and Anita’s behaviour. The next day, Creole was back at the shady tree, continuing to draw her pictures. As she was drawing, Shane interrupted her. “Want to follow me somewhere?” he asked. “Huh? Where?” Creole asked with puzzlement. “Just follow me,” he said walking to another direction. Soon, they arrived at the stables that Shane’s family owns. “Get on a horse,” he told Creole. “What? No way, I can’t ride a horse,” Creole said back. “Oh… C’mon it’s easy,” he said. Creole trusted him and tried to get on a horse but the horse didn’t like her and kept moving as she tried to get on it. In the end, she fails and falls to the ground. “Are you okay Creole?” Shane asked as he went to her side. “My butt hurts, I’m never going to get on a horse anymore,” she scolded. “Why don’t you ride with me then,” Shane said as he helped her up and leaded her to his horse. Shane got up first and held out his hand to Creole. Creole blushed again and held on to his hand as Shane pulled her up. She was then sitting right in front of Shane on a horse and they headed off to the countryside.

Around 15 minutes later, they finally arrived at a small stream, covered by trees around it. “I always come here on my free time,” Shane told Creole. “It’s beautiful,” she replied while looking around. Shane then sat by the riverside and looked at Creole walking around the place, enjoying everything she saw. She then realised that Shane was staring at her. “What is it?” she said blushing. “You look very beautiful,” Shane said to her. Creole felt as though her temperature went off scale and she looked the other way. “Hey… Creole?” Shane said. “Yes?” Creole replied turning towards him. Suddenly she was squirted with water. “Ahhh! Shane! Ohhh… you’re gonna get it you know!” Creole shouted back and headed to the river and splashed water at Shane. Soon, both of them were playing in the river wetting each other. At the end of the day, they headed back to the stables. “This is so beautiful,” Creole said to Shane on the horse. “The sun setting?” Shane asked. “Yeah, I’ve never seen such beauty in my life before,” she told him. Shane smiled as they rode off. Feeling tired, Creole fell asleep on Shane.

Chapter six

“Creole? Wake up… we’re here,” Shane whispered. Creole slowly opened her eyes and noticed it was already dark. “Oh… I’ve must have fallen asleep, what time is it?” she asked. “It’s about… 7,” Shane said. “Is it so late already, we better get back before they get worried,” Creole said getting off the horse with Shane’s help. They then hurried back home. As soon as we enter, Mark and Kian were already there. “Oh ho…ho, where have you two been?” Kian said cheekily. “Just walking around,” Creole quickly answered. “Since noon? Where did you walk? The whole of Ireland?” Anita squealed. “It’s none of your business,” Creole said back. “I… I’ll go have a shower,” Shane interrupted and headed to his room. “I’m going to my room,” Creole also said and headed to her room. “So, how long are you guys staying here in Ireland anyway?” Mark asked. “Today’s the 25th, about 2 more days?” Olive said. “Yup, we’re leaving on the 28th,” Anita told them. “Good, at least I won’t have to see you anymore,” Kian said to Anita. “Same here,” Anita said pointing another way. “28th? No way! Why don’t you stay longer?” Mark begged. “I want to, but we can’t, some good things will come to an end sooner of later,” Olive told Mark. Mark was upset, and heartbroken. “Then, follow me, I need to talk to you,” Mark said holding her hand and pulling her out. “Hey! Mark! Where are you going?” Kian shouted as he ran out of the house. Mark brought her to his car and told her to get in. They then drove off.

Moments later, they arrived on a cliff overlooking the town. Mark got out and walked to the front of the car. “Wow Mark, this is beautiful,” Olive told him. “Yeah, only I know this spot,” Mark told her. Olive went over to the side and looked at the scenery, “Creole would have loved to draw this,” Olive said. “I need to tell you something,” Mark said shyly. “What is it?” Olive replied and walked over to Mark who was leaning on the bonnet of the car. “Since I’ve met you, you really changed me, I guess that you already know what I’m going to say right?” Mark said smiling. “Not really…” Olive whispered. “Olive… I love you,” Mark finally confessed. “You don’t see my love for you through me do you?” Olive replied. Mark felt as though there was a tear in his eye. Olive touched Mark on the cheek, “But even if you don’t see it in me, I want you to really know that I love you too Mark, I really do,” Olive replied with a smile. Mark was so happy he had tears in his eyes. Olive then pulled him into a kiss. They then lie next to each other on the bonnet of the car and stared at the sky filled with stars. “So are we officially lovers now?” Mark asked. “Yes silly, we are,” Olive replied giggling.

Creole was in her room after taking a shower. She then took the drawing block from the table and flipped it open. On the back page were pictures of Shane that she took secretly, in the house, outside horseback riding, in the café and everywhere else that she had the chance to. But there were two photos that she had that means a lot to her. The picture of her and Shane on the first day in Sligo and the one where he caught her on the ground, both of their eyes were locked at each other. She then clipped the picture on the block and started drawing. Shane was in his room sitting at the window side staring outside. He switched on the radio for some music. How he wished that he had know Creole for a very long time, and how he wished that he will find the courage to tell her he love her.

Chapter seven

“Dinnertime!” shouted Mae, Shane’s mother. Kian and Anita was already at the dinner table with Mae in between of them, making sure they don’t misbehave again. Creole then came down followed by Shane. “Where are Olive and Mark?” Creole asked. “They went somewhere in a hurry once knowing you guys were leaving on the 28th,” Kian told them. “28th? That’s around 2 more days, you’re leaving so soon?” Shane asked. “Yeah, we can’t stay here for long you know…” Creole told him as she sat by the table. Suddenly the door was banged opened and Mark together with Olive came in. “We’re officially lovers!” Mark shouted in the dining room. “WHAT?” everyone shouted in unison. “We’re a couple now,” Olive said blushing and still holding Mark’s arm. “Oh my god! This is good news indeed, has your mother know about it yet?” Mae said getting up and hugging the new couple. “Not yet Aunt Mae, I’m going to tell them after dinner,” Mark said cheerfully. “Oh… I can’t wait!” Mae said happily. “But Olive, we’re leaving soon, are you going to stay here?” Creole asked. “We’ve talked about it already, Mark will be following us to London, I want to introduce him to my parents too,” Olive said happily. “Oh… you’re such a lucky girl… congratulations!” Creole said happily and hugged Olive, Anita joined in too. “I need some of you guys to accompany me along to London, care to join?” Mark asked. “Mom, can I go?” Shane asked. “Sure, why not,” Mae said happily. “Then, I’m in,” Shane said. “How about you Kian?” Mark asked. “I have to discuss this with my parents too,” he replied. “Well then… I’m starving already, let’s eat,” Mark said sitting down next to Olive. They can’t seem to let go of each other the whole night, but the whole gang definitely enjoyed the dinner and it was one very prosperous dinner indeed, even Kian and Anita didn’t argue, but maybe that’s because Aunt Mae was in between of them.

Mark has already left with Olive to his house, and she decided to stay over at his house for a night. Everyone gave her a cheeky smile when Olive decided to stay over. Kian has left together with Mark and Anita with Shane’s parents had already gone to bed. Creole was sitting on a couch in front of the fireplace enjoying the heat. “Here’s your hot chocolate,” Shane said passing her a mug. “Thanks,” she replied and held it in her hands. It was hot indeed. Shane also had a mug with him and he sat at the other end of the couch. “So, tell me more about yourself Creole,” Shane asked. “Me? What do you want to know?” Creole replied. “Your family and stuff,” he said. “Okay, my dad’s an Asian, he moved to London to marry my mother, so that makes me half English, half Asian. I have three more sisters, Tanya, Linda and Alexandra,” She told him. “Now it’s your turn,” Creole continued. Shane told her everything about himself and so did Creole. “I have something for you, hold on a sec okay?” Shane said as he got up and headed to his room. Creole finished her hot chocolate. Shane came back seconds later with a black box. Shane opened it and there were two necklaces. He took it out and showed it to Creole. “I’ve bough this yesterday and I think it’s cute,” he said. “When these two are combined…” Shane said halfway as he put the two emblems together, “It’s says friends in Chinese,” Creole continued as she saw the Chinese word appear. “Yeah, so I want you to have one, and I’ll keep the other,” Shane said handing over one of the necklaces. “Thanks Shane, it’s beautiful,” Creole said as she putted it on. “I will treasure this forever,” she told him with a smile.

Chapter eight

It was already the 28th and all were packed and ready to go. They bid a tearful farewell to Shane’s parents as they were at the airport. Kian was allowed to join them, which made Anita felt miserable. As they board the plane, Creole had no chance to sit with Shane because Anita couldn’t stand being seated next to Kian and that Mark was already a couple with Olive which can’t be parted. Once arrived, they had to make a decision on where to stay. Mark would definitely be together with Olive and that her house is small, she could only have Mark there. Anita wouldn’t want to have Kian at her apartment so; both Kian and Shane were to stay at Creole’s house. As they arrived to Creole’s house, both Kian and Shane were amazed at the mansion she stays in. Creole’s dad own a few businesses all around England that makes him into a multi-millionaire. “My dad’s like one of the most money earner in the whole of England,” Creole explained. “Are you sure this is going to be okay?” Shane asked. “I’ve called my mom yesterday, she says it’s fine, come on,” Creole said leading the way into the house.

“I’m home!” Creole shouted once she got into the house. “Mademoiselle, why didn’t you call us? We could have picked you up,” said Hampton, the butler. “Oh, Hampton, it’s all right, these are my friends, please show them to the guest room would you?” Creole asked. “Certainly Mademoiselle,” said Hampton. “Right this way,” he continued as he carried Shane and Kian’s bag. “I’ll be in my room to wash up, meet me at the dining room, we’ll have some refreshments,” Creole told Kian and Shane. “Sure,” they replied and followed Hampton to the room. “My god Shane, this place is huge, I’m worried that we might get lost here,” Kian whispered. “Shush now Kian, don’t be rude,” Shane told him. They were brought to different guest rooms but just next to each other. Each room were huge enough for Shane’s whole family to stay in. “My god, this is too much Hampton, don’t you have a smaller room?” Shane said nervously. “Don’t be silly Master Shane, you’re Mademoiselle’s guest of honour, please be ready in five minutes, I’ll come to bring you to the dining room, now if you could excuse me,” Hampton said as he walked out. “Thank you Hampton,” Shane said as Hampton closed the door. Shane walked around the room and checked out everything in it like a small boy, even the bed was king size. Five minutes later, Hampton knocked on the door. Shane hurried and opened it, “Master Shane, please follow me,” Hampton said leading both Shane and Kian to the dining room.

The dining room was huge with a long dining table in the centre. Kian and Shane then sat next to each other by the table, all sorts of cutlery were on the table, some of them were quite unfamiliar for both Kian and Shane, there were even chopsticks. Later, Creole arrived with three other girls behind her together with her parents. Creole was dressed up beautifully together with her family. “My god Shane, if she’s dressed up like that, what are we doing here?” Kian whispered. “Shane, Kian, I would like you to meet my family,” Creole introduced each one of them including her mother, Lady Fiona and her father, Master Hendricks. Shane and Kian was in awe, not only does Creole look pretty with her hair tied up, but even her sisters and mother was beautiful, even her father was handsome and could be voted first place in the most handsome people in the world. “Good to meet you Kian and Shane, I would like to thank you for taking good care of my daughter, I hope that she didn’t cause you any trouble,” said Lady Fiona. “N… No… no… not at all,” Shane stuttered. “Please, have a seat,” said Master Hendricks. “It’s rather nice to meet such fine young lads from Ireland, I’m pretty fond of your country too,” said Master Hendricks. “Thank you, it’s really an honour to hear those kind words from you sir,” said Kian. Hearing those line all three of Creole’s sisters, Tanya, Linda and Alexandra all felt melting, all their lives they had never met such a polite and cool looking person. Creole cleared her throat loudly and all three of her sisters snapped out of their trances. “Such a polite young boy, anyway, Creole, do you still remember young Gregory?” said Lady Fiona. “The snivel? How could I forget him? Such a disgusting boy, yuck,” Creole complained sticking out her tongue. “Behave yourself Creole,” her mother scolded. “Sorry mother,” Creole said softly. “He has returned from the states from his studies, we’re going to meet him for dinner tonight,” said Master Hendricks. “What? Not another fancy dinner? I’m sick of it already,” Creole complained. “Creole!” Lady Fiona scolded again. Somehow Kian and Shane were enjoying seeing Creole in trouble, giggling at the side. Creole noticed them and she had an idea for revenge. “I would only attend this dinner if only Kian and Shane were to join,” Creole said. “Definitely, you two are invited to the party,” said Lady Fiona. “What, no… it’s way too much for us, any dinner by the streets are fine with us,” Kian declined the offer. “Don’t be silly, you have treated my daughter truly, you’re always welcome here, so please join us for the dinner,” Lady Fiona replied. “If you are really eager to have us there, we won’t decline anymore,” said Shane politely. Lady Fiona and Master Hendricks smiled at them.

Chapter nine

The night came quickly, Shane and Kian didn’t have the perfect attire, so they had to borrow Master Hendricks suits. Kian wore an all black suit, shirt and tie, while Shane was wearing all white as if it was his wedding. “Kian… this is too much,” Shane said to him. “Yeah… darn that Creole, she’s going to pay,” Kian replied as they were waiting for the rest of the family in the hall. Soon, Master Hendricks and Lady Fiona came down followed by Creole’s sisters who were in different coloured gowns and then followed by Creole who was wearing a sexy white gown. Kian and Shane’s faces both went red and warm when they saw her. “Oh… you guys look so cute in dad’s suits,” said Alexandra. “Definitely… could you be my date?” said Tanya to Kian. “S… sure,” Kian accepted. As the other two sisters were about to ask Shane to be their date, Creole had already held his arm. “Sorry girls, he’s taken,” Creole said smiling, Alexandra and Linda was disappointed indeed as Shane was the cutest. Shane was blushing as Creole grabbed him by the arm like his girlfriend. “Well then, shall we go?” said Master Hendricks as he headed to the limousine outside the mansion. Master Hendricks, Lady Fiona, Linda and Alexandra sat in the first limo while the rest were in the other. “Mark, Olive and Anita are going to be there too, so Kian, please behave yourself,” Creole warned him. “If you ask her to behave first,” Kian replied. Tanya giggled hearing Kian talk like a small boy. Shane however was still glowing red and even more now since Creole his holding on to his palm instead.

They arrived moments later to a very high-class restraunt. Creole held Shane’s hand and escorted him into the restraunt. Mark, Olive and Anita were there also, dressed perfectly, Mark in a maroon suit, Olive in the same coloured gown and Anita in a dark blue gown. “My, my, don’t you two look pretty together?” Anita said to Creole and Shane. “Yeah, you two are in same coloured clothing,” Olive said. “So are you two,” Anita said back at Mark and Olive. “Are we? Oh? I didn’t notice that, did you Mackky-kun?” Olive said. “Mackky-kun?” said Shane puzzled. “Mackky is my nickname, Kun is added in the end of a name Japan you use it to refer a guy older than you, it’s polite to say that,” Mark replied. “Why, I didn’t notice it too,” said Mark to Olive. “My god… this is turning to mushy for me,” Anita said. “Maybe I should give you a nickname too,” Creole said thinking. “Oh… please Creole, not for me,” Shane begged not to. “Shaney? Shnny? Shinnie? Sherry? No wait… that’s a gal’s name, hmmm…” Creole mumbled at the side. “How about Shackky?” Kian suggested while giggling. “Shackky! That’s good, how is it Shackky-kun?” Creole asked Shane. Shane stood silent for a while. Creole started to make little sad puppy eyes. “Oh… Alright…” Shane finally gave up. Anita saw Kian at Tanya’s side and something flamed up in her. “Tanya! What are you doing next to him?” Anita shouted. “Kian? Oh! He is my date for tonight,” Tanya said happily. “What? You’re kidding aren’t you? With him?” Anita said pointing at Kian. “Hey… pointing is rude, don’t you have a date yourself? Everyone has one,” Kian replied. Anita just stood silent. “I’m really going to get him,” Anita said to herself.

“Creole!” a man shouted. Creole turned around and saw a very handsome man, just as handsome as Shane. “Excuse me? But do I know you?” Creole asked. “What? You’ve forgotten all about me? I’m Gregory!” the man said. “Gregory? Wow! You’ve changed a lot!” Creole said as she let go of Shane’s hand. “So do you Creole, you look really beautiful now,” Gregory said smiling. “Oh, Gregory, I want you to meet my friends, Shane, Kian, Mark, Olive and Anita, and you must still have remembered Tanya my sister,” Creole said. “How could I have forgotten, she’s just like a sister to me,” Gregory said hugging her. “Nice to meet you too Gregory,” Tanya said. Everyone shook hands and went to their table. Creole sat in between of Gregory and Shane, followed by Anita, Mark, Olive, Kian, Tanya, Linda and Alexandra. Their parents and friends sat in a different table.

Chapter ten

The dinner went well, however two persons were uneasy, Anita and Shane. Sitting next to each other, both of them were green with envy, Shane because Gregory was having all off Creole’s attention and Anita because Kian was having such a good time with Tanya. “Well then, it was nice meeting you again Gregory, why don’t we meet again tomorrow?” Creole asked. “Sure, why not,” he replied, as soon as Shane heard that, he went envious again. Creole was going to meet him again. “I can’t stay here any longer, I’m going back home first,” Anita said walking away. Moments later, a waitress came out from the restraunt, “Excuse me! Did anyone left her cardigan here?” shouted the waitress. “That’s Anita’s!” Olive said pointing to the cardigan that she was holding. “I’ll give it to her, maybe I can chase up to her,” said Creole. “Let me do it, you probably couldn’t chase her on those high heels,” Kian said as he took the cardigan. “I’ll come back later, wait for me,” Kian said. “I’ll follow along,” Shane said following Kian. “Don’t take so long okay? Shackky-kun!” Creole shouted back at Shane. “Shackky-kun?” Gregory asked.

“Where is she? She couldn’t have gone far,” Shane said. “Shush… I hear something,” Kian said. As Shane stopped talking they heard someone struggling. “There! In the alley!” Kian pointed and ran into it. Soon they saw another man on Anita. “Hey!” Kian shouted at the guy. The man got up and was about to run when Shane pulled him by the coat and gave him a punch on the cheek that knocked him out completely. Kian was already holding Anita who was still struggling. “Anita, Anita! Calm down it’s me, Kian,” he said. “Kian…?” Anita whispered with tears in her eyes. “Yes, you’re safe now,” Kian whispered back to her. Still crying, Anita hugged Kian tight, so did he back to her. Shane took out his hand phone and called the cops and the others.

Anita was brought to the hospital and Kian followed her. Shane soon arrived with the others. Creole then hurried to the room together with Olive. “Oh! Anita! Are you okay? He didn’t hurt you did he?” Olive said crying. Creole was also crying next to her. “I’m fine, just a few bruises, that’s all,” Anita said smiling. “You’re definitely calm now,” Mark said. “Yeah,” Anita replied. “Are you sure you’re okay?” Kian asked. “Yes,” Anita whispered. “Well then, we won’t bother you anymore,” Kian continued as he began to walk to the door. “Thank you,” Anita whispered. “What?” Kian asked, as he couldn’t hear her and went closer. “Thank you,” Anita said again with some tears in her eyes. “Don’t mention it,” Kian replied with a smile as he went to her side. Creole and Olive then dragged Kian and Shane out of the room. “I need to tell you something,” Anita said. “What is it?” Kian asked as he took a chair and sat next to her. “Are you together with Tanya?” she whispered. “Don’t be silly… I was just accompanying her for tonight,” Kian said. “But it really hurt me to see you next to her,” Anita said. “I’m sorry then… I didn’t know,” Kian replied. “I’ve been in love with you Kian, not since you saved me, but since the first time we’ve met,” she said now with a bit more tears in her eyes. Kian then smiled. “Me too, sorry for the bad pickup line,” he said. Anita giggled a bit but then began to cry. Kian went over her and hugged her tightly. “I’ll always be there for you, to protect you from any harm,” Kian whispered to her. Anita hugged him back, “Thank you… Kinny-kun,” Anita said. They hugged silently when suddenly… “Kinny-kun?” Kian shouted.

Chapter eleven

Kian and Mark finally found their soul mates, Anita and Olive. Shane was still waiting for the chance, but after these days, both him and Creole has been quite parted, since Gregory appeared. One day… “Shane?” Creole called out to him at the hall. “Yeah?” Shane answered back turning around from the fireplace. “I need to go to the gift shop, could you come with me?” Creole asked sweetly. “Sure, I haven’t got much to do lately,” Shane said as he walked over to her. “Let’s go then,” Creole said smiling.

They then arrived to the gift shop not far away. “What is it your looking for?” Shane asked. “A book,” Creole said. “A book? Why gifts shop?” Shane asked. Creole just went in without answering. As she looked through some of the books, Shane was doing some of his window-shopping also. “Here it is,” Creole said as she picked the book up. ‘How To Make Teddy Bears,’ was the title of the book. She took it and headed to the counter. She paid the cashier and took her book. “Let’s go Shane,” she said heading out the shop followed by him. “What did you buy?” Shane asked. “A book on making teddies,” Creole answered sweetly. “Teddy bears?” Shane continued to ask. “You know what Shane? You ask a lot,” Creole said smiling right in front of Shane’s face, which made his face turn all red.

Days passed and both Shane and Creole were being parted more, they now seldom talk to each other. Shane was at the fireplace staring at the burning wood. “Here Shane,” said Olive, passing a mug to Shane. It was hot chocolate. Mark and Olive then sat on the couch beside. “What’s wrong Shane, you seemed very quiet nowadays,” Olive asked. “Huh? Oh, it’s… nothing,” Shane mumbled. “There is something, want to talk about it?” she asked. “Well… if you promise not to tell anyone,” Shane told her. “Yeah, what is it?” Olive said as both her and Mark paid more attention. “It’s Creole, we have been parted with each other since Gregory appeared,” Shane began. “Since we first met on the plane, I had grew fond of her, and till now, I still am, it’s kinda bizarre, but… I’ve fallen in love with her,” Shane continued. “Really? See! I told you so!” Olive said loudly at Mark. Shane and Mark gave her a strange look. “Oh… sorry, hehehe… yeah, it’s really bizarre, all six friends became three couples, why don’t you confess to her?” Olive said. “Yeah, it would be alright, I’m thinking she’s in love with you too,” Mark said. “But… we’ve not spoken for quite some days already,” Shane interrupted. “Don’t worry about that, once you’ve told her, it’s going to be alright,” Olive continued. “Maybe… you’re right, I’ll tell her once she returns,” Shane said with confidence. “That’s my man,” Mark said. “Oh! I think she’s finally returned,” Olive said as they heard a car at the porch. “Great! I need to get something first,” Shane said as he ran to his room.

“Olive! Just the girl I wanted to see! I have great news!” Creole said once she saw Olive in the hall. “Oh? What is it?” Olive said with excitement. “I’ve finally decided to confess my love to him!” Creole shouted. “What! Really? Who?” Olive pretended to say, thinking it was Shane. “Gregory!” Creole replied loudly. Olive was stunned, so was Mark. “Gregory?” Olive said softly. “Yeah! All this time! I can’t believe he was there all the time!” Creole said smiling madly. Suddenly, they heard a door slammed. Walking to the door, they saw a teddy bear on the floor. “Whom could this belong to?” Creole said picking the teddy bear up. Mark and Olive were looking at each other sadly. “Shane…” Olive whispered to Mark.

Chapter twelve

Shane was at the stairs near the hall when he heard Creole say those very worlds. It felt like arrows in his heart, dropping the teddy bear he made from Creole’s book, he ran out the house and still continued to run never wanting to stop but his heart was too painful to continue. He then ended up in the family garden. He then fell to his knees as tears began to fill his eyes. He started to cry. “Shane?” Anita said as she saw him on his knees at the garden. “Kian!” Anita shouted as she got nearer to him. “What’s wrong? Shane?” Kian said as he arrived quickly as possible. Shane pulled back his tears and wiped his eyes. “What are you doing outside here without your coat? And crying?” Anita said helping Shane up and leading him to a bench nearby. Kian removed an extra coat and covered Shane with it. “It’s Creole,” Shane said shivering. “What did she do to you?” Anita asked. “No… it’s, I’m in love with her, but… she’s not, she’s in love with Gregory,” Shane explained. Anita and Kian stood silently. “Don’t tell her what I said, it’s going to be hard on her,” Shane said. “Well… we should get inside first or we’ll catch a cold,” Kian said as all three of them headed back to the house.

Soon the door opened. Creole, Mark and Olive went to see whom it is. “Shane! What’s wrong with you? Your eyes are red and your nose too,” Creole said. “I think I have a cold, I need to rest now, goodnight,” Shane said as he headed back to the room. Kian, Mark, Olive and Anita stared sadly at Shane walking back to his room. “Anita! I have some good news!” Creole said turning to her. “You’re in love with Gregory…” Anita replied before Creole could continue. “How did you know? Anyway, isn’t it great?” Creole said hopping away. Shane heard those words and tear began to flow down his cheeks.

After he had a cold shower, Shane went to his bed. He picked up two pictures he brought with him to London, both pictures of him and Creole. He then settled it down and picked up the phone beside the bedside. He dialled some numbers and waited for the other end of the line to pick up. “Hello, yeah… one-way ticket to Dublin please… yes… one person…”

Everyone was at the dining room for breakfast the following morning; Gregory was also there with the others. Shane then came down from his room. “Shane… what’s with the fancy clothes? We’re not planning to go anywhere today,” Kian said as he saw Shane coming into the room, dressed in a black shirt and slacks together with a light brown jacket. “Oh… I’m returning to Sligo after breakfast,” Shane said as he sat by the table. “ What? Why?” Anita asked in shock. “Oh… my parents need help,” Shane explained. “You should have told us Shane, we could have book the plane for you,” said master Hendricks. “It’s okay Mr. Hendricks, thanks for the hospitality all these days, and you too lady Fiona,” Shane said with gratitude. “Oh… why don’t you stay longer? This is really quite a shock to me…” lady Fiona said sadly, almost crying. “Oh dear… please control yourself Fiona,” master Hendricks said disappointedly. “Are you planning to return soon?” Asked Creole. “I’ll try, when things start to get bored there,” Shane told her with a smile. “Without us, it’ll definitely become bored soon, we’ll tag along,” mark said. “No! There’s no need for you to do that, you’ve just found them, no use leaving them behind because of me, I’ll be fine,” Shane said. Finally when breakfast was over, Shane was ready to go. “It was nice meeting you,” Gregory said holding his hands out. “Me too… take good care of Creole for me okay?” Shane told him. Gregory nodded. “Goodbye Shane,” Creole said. Shane kissed her on the cheek, “take care of yourself,” Shane said and went into the cab. He left for the airport and returned to Sligo, Ireland.

Chapter thirteen

“I finally did it! I finally did it!” Creole came shouting when she arrived home from dinner that night. “Did what?” Anita asked as she was having some ice cream with Kian while they were watching a movie. “I confessed my love and Gregory had accepted it! We’re in love with each other all this time!” Creole said. Anita and Kian was devastated. All this time they though she was in love with Shane… but it was the other way around and Shane is now back in Sligo. “But Creole… how about…” Anita started to say when Kian poked her and shook his head. “Hmm? You said something?” Creole asked. “Oh! N… nothing,” Anita replied softly. “Alright then… I’m tired now, so I’ll go to bed… have a big date tomorrow with Gregory,” Creole said happily hopping to her room. Kian got up and walked to a table nearby. On it sat a teddy bear. Kian picked it up and stared at it. “It’s sad…” Kian mumbled. “What is? The bear?” Anita said looking at him. “Both… the bear and Shane… things didn’t go the way both of them wanted to,” Kian told her.

“Are you guys sure?” Creole shouted. “Yeah… we’ve decided to,” said Olive. “But… when?” Creole asked. “Until we’ve finished packing,” Anita told her. “But… I’ll be alone,” Creole told them. “You’ll have Gregory with you… we need to be with ours, Kian and Mackky are already homesick,” Olive told her. “How long have we been together already?” Anita asked and them sipped some of her tea. “Hmm… since kindergarten?” Olive said. “Yeah… remember that we use to form the Powerpuff girls of London?” Creole said. “Oh… god… can’t you remember anything else besides that?” Anita said annoyed. “Oh c’mon… it was the best group we’ve came out with… I was Blossom, Olive was Bubbles and you’re Buttercup,” Creole continued. “Yeah… and we bullied the guys that were mean to us,” Olive said. “Till mom grounded us… and we were almost kicked out of school,” Anita said laughing. “Oh god… that was tough… oh… I’m going to miss the days we were together,” Creole said with tears in her eyes. “Oh c’mon… feel free to visit us anytime,” Olive said holding Creole’s hand. “Yeah… your dad’s a millionaire… what’s there to worry?” Anita told her. “You’re right… c’mon one last Powerpuff salute,” Creole said. All three of them stood up and putted their fist on each other. “POWERPUFF!” they shouted in unison. Everyone at the café was staring at them. “Uhh… I think we better go now,” Olive said shyly then all three of them ran back home.

Time passed till the day Olive, Anita, Mark and Kian were to return to Sligo. All of them were at the airport with their bags and other stuffs. “Well then… we should better go now… or we’ll miss the plane,” Anita said. Creole went over to the girls and hugged them tightly. “Remember to call once you arrive,” Creole said crying. “We will… don’t worry,” Olive said. Creole then went over to hug Mark and Kian. “Send my regards to Shane okay?” Creole said. “Sure… take care of yourself,” Kian said. “You too,” she replied. Anita took out a teddy bear and gave it to Creole. “Isn’t this the one we found at the door?” Creole asked. “Yes… treasure it… you might need it someday,” Anita told her. Creole was puzzled but didn’t care. She waved her final goodbye as she saw her friends leave.

Chapter fourteen

It has been a whole year since she last saw her friends. Sitting at the balcony, Creole was busying herself by reading. Gregory was now working at her father’s company and they had rarely met. As she stared at the skies, she remembered what Shane told her. ‘The sky is infinitely high and crystal clear’ those very words still echo in her mind. As she continues to stare in the sky, she realised that the sky was one of the most beautiful scenery she had ever seen in her life. The clouds gather to many shapes and sizes makes the sky enchanted with its rich colours. She hurried back into her room and took her canvas and started to draw the sky. It didn’t take very long to finish the most amazing picture she had ever drawn. “Something’s missing,” she told herself. She hurried back in and took out a picture and continued to paint.

It was late in the evening when she finally finished her masterpiece. Looking at the canvas, she was even stunned by her own drawings, mixed together with the sky, she had painted Shane and herself just like the picture she was holding. She was proud of it, but there was a feeling inside her about Shane. She couldn’t get him out of her mind. She decided to go meet Gregory to get him off her mind.

Gregory had passed her a set of keys to his apartment before, so she didn’t have to go knock on the door. As she stepped in, there was a trail of clothes leading to the room, including a dress. Filled with curiosity she followed the trail leading to Gregory’s room. As she peeped through the door, she saw Gregory and another girl with him on his bed. She almost ran out when she heard him talking to her. “Life’s going to be alright… I’ve already stolen the richest man’s daughter’s heart, and after I get my share of the money… we can escape to a country no one will ever find us,” Gregory said proudly to the girl next to him. Filled with despair, Creole ran out with a broken heart, crying.

She ran and ran, not knowing where she was heading, as she stop she realised that she was in the middle of the road where a car was heading straight towards her. The lights blinded her view, and she was still numb by what happened. Right at that moment, someone caught her arm and pulled her out of harms way. She landed safely on the person that saved her. “Creole!” he shouted. Creole slowly opened her eyes, and there he was, the last person she expected to have saved her, Shane. Stunned for a moment she started to cry in his arms. “It’s alright… I’m here,” he whispered to her as the rest of the guys came.

They arrive back at Creole’s home in the living room. Creole was now much more calmed. “Why were you crying back there?” Mark asked. He had looked much more matured with a sexy half grown beard. Creole took her time and explained to them. Everyone was stunned. “Well then… what do you plan to do?” Kian asked. He on the other hand has grown taller with longer hair and was wearing spectacles, which made him look smarter. “I’m not sure,” Creole whispered back. “We can’t just leave it be…” Anita complained. She and Olive looked much more beautiful, they switched hairstyles, Olive now with long crimson hair, and Anita with short blonde together with blue streaks of hair. “Let’s go on a holiday,” Shane suggested. “What?” everyone asked puzzled. “Creole had a lot on her mind right now, and the last thing she need now is a vacation, let’s go somewhere peaceful,” Shane told them. “Great idea, we should do that!” Olive said delightedly. “I don’t think so…” Creole said softly. “Oh… c’mon, it’ll be fun, and it will get that stinking Gregory guy out of your head,” Shane told her. “Yeah… c’mon Creole!” the others begged. “Alright… I guess it’ll be okay,” Creole said with a smile. “Yeah! I’ll go discuss a country to go with Kinny,” Anita said pulling Kian away. “And we shall pack your things,” Olive said pulling Mark with her. It was kind of absurd to see Anita and Olive both pulling a very tired Kian and Mark out of the room. “Well then… why don’t rest here for a while and I’ll get you a cup of chocolate,” Shane said with a charming smile. He has definitely changed the most; he was much more matured, with his shining brunette hair and hazel brown eyes. Creole couldn’t help but smile and cry happy tears together.

Chapter fifteen

Shane arrived with two cups of hot chocolate and was on his way to the hall when he noticed the dark brown teddy bear sitting lonely on the table. Smiling, he took the teddy bear and brought it with him. “Here,” he said handling the cup to Creole and sat right next to her. Creole took the cup from him and noticed the necklace dangling from his neck. “You’re still wearing it,” Creole said pointing to the necklace. “Definitely, it’s a token of our friendship,” Shane said with a smile. “How about yours?” Shane asked as he noticed she was wearing a different necklace. “Oh… this was Gregory’s gift, I don’t think I need it anymore,” she said as she took it off and threw it away. Shane smiled and was happy that Creole wasn’t sad anymore. Suddenly there was a rumbling sound. “An earthquake?” Creole asked nervously. “Just calm down, it’s the fellows, it happened before when we were in Ireland, they hurried to my house once I called to tell them I was returning here to see you,” Shane said. Then, Anita appeared in front of them, “Kinny! Hurry it up!” Anita shouted. “Coming dear…” Kian said tiredly carrying a big cardboard. “Ok… hold it up straight!” Anita ordered him. “Yes dear…” Kian said again carrying it up. Shane and Creole tilted their heads to the side, trying to see what was on the cardboard. Anita was looking at them puzzled and looked at the board. “Kinny! It’s upside-down!” Anita said whacking Kian’s hand with a short professor stick. “Ow… sorry dear,” Kian continued and turned the board right side up. “Okay… here are our choices, this is one of the most coolest place according to me of course, New York, Paris, Thailand or Malaysia,” Anita said pointing to each picture of the following countries. “New York sounds good, but… it’s too crowded for me…” Creole said. “Paris is okay… but won’t it be a little to expensive to be staying there?” Shane asked. “Well then… those two are out and there’s only Thailand and Malaysia left, so which one?” Anita said. “And please hurry…” Kian whispered with tiring arms. “Hmmm…. It’s kind of hard to choose… I know… head’s Thailand, tail’s Malaysia,” Creole said taking out a coin from her pocket and tossing it up.

“I’m so excited! Malaysia… I heard it’s quite advanced and they have one of the most beautiful rain forest there,” Olive said on the plane sitting next to Mark. “Yeah… me too,” Mark replied tiredly. “My god… never had I expect to leave straight away…” Creole said. “Yeah… me too, those guys are really unpredictable,” Shane told her. “But how about my parents?” Anita asked. “Don’t worry… we have already arranged everything for you… so have a good night’s rest so that you’ll be energetic again once we arrive,” Kian told her. Creole just smiled happily. “Thank you guys…” Creole whispered. “No problem,” Kian said sweetly. “Shane…” Creole whispered. “Oh? What is it?” Shane asked as he putted down the magazine he was reading. “Thank you very much…” Creole said softly. “Oh… it really wasn’t me who’s paying for the trip,” Shane said. “No… for saving me at my most downside moment,” Creole told him. “Oh… hold on a minute,” Shane said as he got up and took down a bag from the compartment above. “Here,” he said handling her the dark brown teddy bear. “This… isn’t this from my home?” she asked. “Yeah… it was the teddy bear I made for you, sorry I didn’t ask for your permission to use your book back then…” Shane said. “You made it for me?” Creole asked. “Yeah… it’s not completed yet,” Shane said and took out two long ribbons from his coat pocket. “One for the bear,” he said as he tied it around the bear’s neck, “And one more for you,” Shane continued as he tied the second ribbon around Creole’s hair. “Can I name this bear after you?” Creole asked. “Sure… why not,” Shane told her. “Thank you…” she whispered back with a tear rolled down her cheek. “It alright… I’ll always be there for you,” Shane said as he wiped the tear off.

Chapter sixteen

“Wow… this airport is huge!” Olive said excitedly. “Come on…” Anita said leading the small group. They arrive at the arrivals and noticed someone shouting Anita’s name. “There he is!” Anita said waving back. “Who’s that?” Mark asked Kian. “I’m not sure… I hope is not what I think it is,” Kian replied. “Guys… this is William… my cousin,” Anita introduced. William had short blonde hair just like Anita and green eyes. “Wow… he’s cute…” Olive said. Mark purposely bumps Olive. “Oh… of course you’re better looking,” Olive replied pinching Marks cheeks. “Ow… please stop…” Mark said as his hands were full and couldn’t push Olive’s hands away. “Oh… sorry Mackky,” Olive said quickly pulling her hands away. Both of Mark’s cheeks were red. “Hello Annie, it’s been a long time already,” William said hugging his cousin. “William… these are my friends… Shane, Creole, Mark, Olive and my boyfriend Kinny,” Anita said introducing everyone. “Nice to finally meet my little cousin’s boyfriend… Kinny… what a strange name… do Irish people have those kind of names?” William asked. “Oh… no… it’s isn't my real name… I’m Kian Egan,” he said shaking Williams hand. “Oh… I call him Kinny for short,” Anita explained. “Isn’t Kian short enough?” William asked. “You proved my point,” Kian quickly said.

“Well then… where in Malaysia would you like to go first?” William asked as he drove the land rover. “Shopping definitely,” Anita said first. “Very well then… the best place to go is Kuala Lumpur then,” William said as they drove to the city. After half an hour later, they arrived at the Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. “The shopping malls here are fantastic and they’re just nearby,” William said. After checking in, the group started their shopping spree. They’ve bought all kinds of stuffs, clothes, accessories and even electronic stuffs. It took them almost the whole day to finish. “I’ll bring you to one of Malaysia’s most famous landmark, the K.L. Twin Towers,” William said as he continued to guide them to the towers. Reaching there was half as exciting as seeing it with their eyes. They were stunned by the beauty of the structure, “I better take a picture of this,” Creole said taking out her camera and taking a picture of the towers. “This is good,” Shane said standing next to her. “What is?” she asked putting away her camera. “You are… it’s good that you’re back to your formal energetic self again,” Shane said. Creole couldn’t help but blush deep red.

For dinner, William brought them to Malaysia’s second tallest building, the K.L. Tower. As they arrive to the tallest level of the tower, it overlooks the whole city. “Su-Goe… it’s beautiful,” Olive said looking out of the window. “Ughhh… I get dizzy every time I look down from a tall building,” Kian said rubbing his temples. “Oh… little Kinny have a headache? Don’t worry, let’s have out dinner first then,” Anita said walking to a table with Kian. Creole was impressed with the view. “Kuala Lumpur was known to be the garden of lights… did you know that?” William told them. “I do now… it’s really impressive,” Creole said. The whole city was lightening up with the streetlights and a light from the buildings; the river that flows between the cities reflects the lights to make it look shimmering. “Tomorrow will be heading to Penang Island, they have the best seafood in Malaysia and we’ll be heading to Pahang for nature trips and our last stop will be Cameron Highlands, it’s cooler than the other cities and it’s located on the backbone of Malaysia. “Wow… you already planned all this?” Creole asked. “Yeah… this are the best places you can find in Malaysia,” William said suddenly holding out a big bunch of pamphlets. Shane and Creole were stunned at the big pile of pamphlets he got out from nowhere. “He’s just like Anita,” Creole whispered to Shane and both of them giggled.

Chapter seventeen

It was already five days in since they arrive at Malaysia. They are now in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia’s finest place for the freshest teas and strawberries. They rented a large bungalow that includes 4 rooms, a kitchen and 3 bathrooms. It was just perfect for the four couple including William and his wife, Vivian. “Well then… what do you guys plan to do here in Cameron?” Vivian asked. “I don’t know, we haven’t come here before,” Anita said. “What can we do here then?” Olive asked. “Well… Cameron is usually a place for people who wants to seek for peace and quiet,” William said bringing out 8 cups and a large pot of tea to the living room. “Good, we’ve tired ourselves out for the past 5 days already, we deserve peace and quiet,” Kian said stretching. “Maccky… want to join me for a long… hot… bath?” Olive asked sexily. Everyone looked at the couple absurdly. “Olive… not so loud,” Mark said shyly. “Fine then… I’ll go alone,” Olive said getting up and heading to the room. Gulping hard, Mark looked at the others nervously. “Wait!” he shouted chasing after Olive.

After finishing his tea, Shane got up. “Where are you heading?” Creole asked. “Of… all those days of eating non-stop kind of make me a little fat… I’m going jogging,” Shane told her. “Fat? You have a purr-fact body,” Creole thought to herself. “Want to join me?” Shane asked. “Huh?” Creole mumbled popping out of her daydream with Shane. “Jogging… want to join me?” Shane asked again. “Oh… sure… why not?” Creole said getting up and headed to her room to change.

“Remember the teddy bear Shane?” Creole asked as they were jogging. “Yeah Shane the bear… what’s wrong with it?” Shane asked. “Well… why did you make it for me at the first place?” Creole asked blushing. “Oh… he was my gift for you…” Shane said. Creole started blushing madly as she held her face and moving it side by side. Shane didn’t realise Creole’s reaction, “I made it because I was in love with you,” he continued. “AH? Whoa!” Creole shouted when she heard what Shane just said. Filled with shock, Creole tripped and fell towards Shane. Both of them suddenly went tumbling down the small hill. Shane held tight to Creole as they continued to roll down the hill.

“Creole?” Shane shouted. Slowly, she opened her eyes. “Thank god you’re okay,” Shane said. They were at the foothill. “Yeah… I’m fine… ow,” Creole said suddenly feeling pain in her ankles. Shane got up and looked at her leg. “I think you’ve sprained it,” Shane said examining it. “I think so,” Creole said. “How are we going to get back?” she continued. “Here, hop on,” Shane said facing his back to her. Blushing, Creole held on to his back as he lifted her up. “If you’re not comfy, just tell me okay?” Shane told her. “Nope… I’m very comfortable here,” she said softly. Shane smiled as he began his way back up the hill to the house.

Chapter eighteen

It took almost an hour to reach back to the house. Shane called out the others as he sat Creole on the steps of the house. “My god, what happened?” Kian said as he opened the door. “Oh… we kind of fell,” Shane said. “I fell… I’m really sorry Shane… having you to carry me all the way back here,” Creole said almost crying. “Don’t be such a cry baby… I’m fine… let’s get you inside… I’m freezing,” Shane said as Kian helped him and Creole back in the house. They settled Creole on the sofa right in front of the fireplace. Shane then followed Kian to the kitchen. “Thanks Kian… could you help me on my back… it’s painful,” Shane said as he took off the sweatshirt he was wearing. There were cuts and bruises all over. “Ouch… those must have hurt,” Kian said as he took out the first aid box. “It’s no problem,” Shane said sitting on the kitchen stool. Creole couldn’t help but to stare in guilt, Shane’s back was all hurt and he still managed to stand the pain of carrying her on his back all the way back home for a whole hour. Anita then came to the hall where Creole was. “Here, have a sip,” she said giving her a cup of tea. Creole started crying. “There, there, it’s no use crying over spilt milk,” Anita said. “I’ve been causing him so much problems since we met…” Creole said sniffling. “You know Shane has always been there for you,” Anita said patting her friends back. “Even Gregory never did that much for me,” Creole told her. Anita smiled at her. “Since the first day I met Kian, I knew there was something in him that make me feel safe around him, but yet we started arguing,” Anita told Creole. “But since the day he saved me, I knew he was the one who would risk everything for me, there’s something between us that clicks, when one of us is in trouble, the other one will know, that’s special for us,” Anita said. “So… never ever let go of the person you think is the one for you,” Anita continued. “Mark always makes me happy around him,” Olive said appearing from behind them. “Olive?” Creole said. “When we argue… he’ll be the one apologizing first, even if I’m the one who’s wrong, he has no intention of making me sad or mad and that’s why I love him,” Olive told her. All three of them then stared into the kitchen where the other three guys are, Kian, Mark and Shane… laughing and smiling with each other. “They are very special in our lives, that’s why you should realise it soon,” Olive said. “Realise what?” Creole asked puzzled. “The person everyone know the least is themselves,” Anita said. “Especially their own hearts, you’ll have the chance to realise it,” Olive told her. Creole sat silently on the sofa, staring straight at Shane. Shane then turned to face her, and he just smiled.

“We’ll have to cancel dinner then,” William said looking at Creole’s sprained foot. “No… don’t do that… you guys should go, I’ll be fine here,” Creole said. “We can’t leave you here alone…” Vivian said. “Look… because of my clumsiness, I don’t want everyone to stay stranded here in this house, just go!” Creole said loudly. “But…” William said softly. “I’ll stay with her,” Shane said putting his hand on her shoulder. It was warm. “I can’t go out right now too, my back isn’t really in perfect shape yet,” Shane explained. “Alright then… we’ll go, I’ll get you something to eat too,” William said. “Thank you,” Creole said smiling. “And you too Shane,” Creole said holding his hand. “Don’t mention it,” he continued. “Let’s go! I’m starving already,” Mark said stretching. “You’ll have the chance to realise,” Anita whispered to Creole and left.

Chapter nineteen

When everyone left, Shane locked the door and headed back for Creole. “You must be tired, come… let me bring you to your room,” Shane said. He held on to Creole and carried her to the room. As he put her on the bed, he tucked her in tight. “Well then… sleep tight…” Shane said kissing her on her forehead. Shane was about to leave when he felt something pulling his pants. As he turned around to look, Creole was holding on to his pants looking down. “What is it?” he asked as he sat next to her. “Please don’t leave me…” Creole said. “Silly girl… I’ll be just outside, I won’t leave you,” Shane said. Creole pulled down her sweatshirt zipper. “What are you doing Creole?” Shane said holding on to her hand. “You’ve done so much for me,” Creole said softly. “But I don’t want this as a reward, I don’t need any rewards from you,” Shane said holding on to her hand. “Please Shane… I need you, I love you, can you do this for me?” Creole whispered. “I… I… don’t… know…” Shane said nervously. Creole put her hand on Shane cheek, and pulled him towards her. They then kissed. Shane let go of Creole’s hand and put his hands on her cheeks.

Creole got up and looked at her watch. It was already three in the morning. She looked around and noticed Shane by the window, staring outside. The moonlight was shining into the room and it highlighted his whole body. Creole pulled out her sketchbook and a charcoal pencil. “Creole?” Shane asked as he noticed her already up. “Shhh… just stay there,” she whispered and started drawing. It took a few minutes when she finally finished. “Done…” she whispered. Shane got up and headed right next to her. “It’s beautiful Creole,” he said to her. “I know,” she said to him. “But it’s really odd looking at yourself naked in a picture,” he continued. “Shane…” Creole groaned. “Creole… I’ve been meaning to tell you this for a long time already,” Shane said as he got up. “What is it?” Creole asked. “Come,” he said pulling her to the side of the bed. He took something out of his bag and squatted on one knee. “Shane…” Creole whispered. “I’ve known you since we’ve met from the plane, and it was really bizarre that we met again in my place, we been to many obstacles and troubles, but all this time, I’ve been in love with you…” Shane whispered to her. He then opened the box he held in his hand. “Creole Wendy Hendricks, will you be Mrs. Creole Filan for me?” Shane whispered. Creole went into a trance, every memory she had with Shane just flashed right in front of her. Suddenly there was a warm feeling in her; she had never felt this happy and safe before. “Yes Shane… I would love to,” she whispered back with tears. Shane’s face lightens up. He lifted Creole with joy. They laughed so loud that everyone woke up and ended up in their room.

“Ughh… what’s with all this… noise?” Anita asked when she saw Creole, wrapped in only bed sheets together with Shane. “Oh… My… GOD!” Anita shouted. “Guys! Guys! Wake up!” Anita shouted. Creole and Shane were trying to shut her up but it was too late, everyone was already there. “Wow! They actually… Wow!” Mark said in disbelieve. “My… my… did you have that much fun till you guys were laughing?” Anita said cheekily when suddenly a pillow ended up in her face. Shane and Creole were blushing madly. “We might as well tell them…” Shane said to Creole. “There’s no need to tell us, we already know what just happened,” Vivian said. “Really? Were we talking that loud?” Creole asked. “Huh? Aren’t you going to tell us you just had sex?” William asked when he too ended up with a pillow in his face. “Not that! Shane proposed to me! We’re getting married!” Creole shouted excitedly. “No way! Really? Wow! We’re also engaged,” Anita said showing them their and rings. “No way! We too are engaged,” Olive said holding out her ring and Mark’s. “Oh my! Wowee!” All three girls shouted and hopping around the room, the lads however were congratulating each other. “My, my, is this how Shane looks like naked?” William said staring at the picture by the bed. Hearing what William just said, the others except Shane and Creole hurried to the picture. “Ewww…” William, Kian and Mark said in unison. “Wooooww…” Vivian, Olive and Anita said on the other hand. Filled with embarrassment, Shane hurried and grabbed the picture away. “Ah… Shane!” Creole shouted out. “It really looks like the picture,” Anita whispered to the other girls. “Shane… I didn’t know you were those kind of people,” Mark said covering his eyes. Puzzled Shane looked at the others. The three guys covered their partner’s eyes as they struggled to get them off. Shane looked at himself and realised he dropped his bed sheet cover.

Chapter twenty

Since that day, Shane was too embarrassed to even face the other guys. There were still making fun of him. The three couples decided on having their wedding together, a triple wedding. They took the last flight back to London the following day. Arriving at the airport, they noticed that Gregory was there. “Creole! Creole! My god! Why didn’t you tell me you left for a holiday?” he said grabbing her. “No need to explain, I’m glad you return,” he continued and hugged her. Suddenly Creole pushed him. “Creole? What’s wrong?” he said. Creole’s family was there too, looking at her puzzled. “Don’t act dumb Greg, I know you don’t love me,” she said to him. “W… What are you talking about?” Gregory said nervously. “Remember the day I left? I went over to your apartment to see you, but guess what I saw instead,” Creole shouted at him. “C… Creole… dear?” Gregory said, much more nervously. “You’ve been sleeping with my father’s own secretary behind my back!” she said to him. “W… What? You’ve must be mistaken,” Gregory replied stuttering. “We’re through Gregory… I’m already engaged with someone else,” she said proudly. “What?” Gregory shouted. “You’re fired,” said Master Hendricks to him. “Daddy!” Creole shouted happily as she hugged her father. “My… my… we’ve just left you for a week and you’re finally engaged to someone already?” Master Hendricks said. “So… who’s the lucky son in law?” said Lady Fiona. “Who else could it be, mother? Shane of course,” Creole said happily as she pulled Shane towards them. “Uh… I hope that you will give me your daughters hand in marriage,” Shane said nervously to Master Hendricks and Lady Fiona. “Oh… definitely… you are always welcome to the family,” Lady Fiona said to him as she hugged him. “You have my permission too,” said Master Hendricks as he shook Shane’s hand. He was relieved. Creole’s sister were happy for their youngest sister, never would they taught she would be the first to marry. “Why you… it’s all your fault!” shouted Gregory as he charged towards Shane. Suddenly Gregory went flying off another direction. Kian looked nervously at his fiancée. “Oh… you I hate people who blame others for their own mistake,” Anita said with her fist out. “You wouldn’t do that would you Kinny-kun?” Anita asked with a smile. Kian quickly shook his head nervously.

Preparations were made, catering was ordered and friends were invited. The day finally arrived. The wedding of Shane and Creole, Mark and Olive together with Anita and Kian, in the dressing room, Anita, Creole and Olive were in their best wedding gowns. “Never would I taught I’ll be wearing these when I’m only 23 years old,” Anita said. “You really look beautiful in them,” Olive said to her. “So do you two,” Anita replied. “I want to thank you two,” Creole said. “For what?” Anita asked as she wore her long gloves. “For your advice, it really helped me a lot,” Creole, said. “Oh c’mon… what are friends for?” Olive said to her. “And never would we taught that we were to be married together,” Anita said. Suddenly they heard someone clearing his throat behind. Creole looked behind and saw her father. “Dad, are you even allowed in here?” Creole said, as she got closer to him. “I just want to have a final look at my beautiful daughter, is that wrong?” Master Hendricks said. “Not at all father, thank you for allowing Shane to marry me,” she told him. “It’s okay, I trust he would never hurt you like Gregory did,” he said. “He won’t father, I promise you that,” she said. “I trust you,” he told his daughter and kissed her on the forehead. “I love you daddy,” she whispered. “Me too,” he replied.

Epilogue

“Are you girls ready?” a woman said as she popped into the room. “Yeah,” Anita said as she had a final look at her dress. “Me too,” Olive said following after Anita. “Hold on a sec.” Creole said as she walked over to a table. She picked up the necklace Shane got for her and wore it, then hugged her teddy bear, “Wish me luck Shane,” she said to it. And walked out the room with the teddy bear sitting on the table.

Olive was the first bride to walk down the aisle with her father; she was leaded to Mark, who was in a black tuxedo. Smiling madly, Mark held on to Olive’s arm and walked further up to the altar. Next was Anita who was in a pure white wedding gown, leaded to Kian by her cousin William. And the last was Creole in a not too fancy wedding dress and was leaded by her father to Shane, who was wearing a white tux instead. The girls behind them, including their mother and family members were crying madly. After half an hour, the three couple’s were officially married. They then headed to the after wedding party held at the Hendricks manor. They had great food, beautiful music and the happiest time of their lives. They danced and sang non-stop. “Have you ever taught about having a singing career?” Creole asked Shane. “I’m not sure… maybe,” he told her with a smile. After the party, they then left for their honeymoon. Mark and Olive decided on going to Hollywood USA, Anita and Kian left for Paris while Creole and Shane left for Hawaii.

~~20 years later~~

“Who would have guessed that we all would end up marrying the love of our lives so soon?” Anita asked. “Yeah… it’s already been 20 years already…” Creole said. “How’s Stuart anyway? I heard he finished his studies already,” Olive asked. “Yeah… he’s now working for UNICEF in Africa,” Creole said. “Good news, Lillian is getting married next month,” Anita told them. “That soon? I can remember just a few years ago she was just a little girl dancing in front of us,” Olive said. “Yeah… she was so happy that day, she even ended up marrying much more earlier than her mother,” Creole joked. “How about the twins? Daniel and Radcliff?” Anita asked Olive. “Oh… they’re going for their PhD’s next year in US,” Olive explained. “That’s good,” Creole said. “Hello ladies… ready for dinner?” asked Shane. “Yeah… let me go get my handbag,” Creole said getting up and headed to her room. She picked up her handbag and there sitting right next to it was the dark brown bear, Shane, looking brand new. Creole took out the ribbon Shane gave her, tied her hair up and headed out. “Isn’t that the ribbon I gave you?” Shane asked as Creole approached him. “Yeah… you still remember,” Creole said. “Sure I do…” Shane replied and kissed her. As they headed out and closed the door behind them, a picture was hanging proudly on the wall, the picture Creole drawn of her and Shane with the blue skies behind them, on the picture it wrote, ‘The Sky Is Infinitely High And Crystal Clear, And It’s The Only Treasure That I Can Give To You – Love Creole,’ it was Creole’s wedding present to Shane. “It’s the picture of my heart,” Creole said to Shane when she gave it to him.
