Complete the following:
  1. Open a new, blank Word document
  2. Save this document as "p#_username_lesson1" (periodnumber_yourusername_assignmentname) TO YOUR COMPUTERS FOLDER in the P: drive
  3. Go to the [Format] menu and choose [Paragraph]. Locate the "Line Spacing" field and choose "Double". Click [OK].
  4. Add a proper MLA heading to the top of the 1st page:

    Name

    Teacher's Name

    Course Name

    Day Month Year

  5. Using pics4learning, save three images from the same category. You are going to write a 1 page story incorporating the images, so choose images that will help inspire you to write a story. The story can be based on personal experience or fiction.
  6. To save the image, right click on the picture and choose [Save Picture As]. Save the images to your IMAGES folder in your P: drive.
  7. In your Images folder, right click on the images and choose copy. Paste them into the Word document. The images should be stack on top of each other on the left side.
  8. Format each picture to be about 2" (inches) high. To set the height, right click on the picture, choose [Format Picture] on the [Size] tab, set the "Height" to about 2 inches.
  9. Write your story. The image should have several lines of text between them. The text should wrap around the images.
  10. To wrap the text, right click on the image, choose [Format Picture] then choose the [Layout]. Choose "Square" and "Left".
  11. The document should be one page, double spaced, including the images.
