How to create a chart using Chart Wizard

Complete the following in your stock spreadsheet.

Activity 1:
  1. Highlight from B2:B12.
  2. Hold down Ctrl.
  3. Highlight from F2:F12.
  4. Click the Chart Wizard button (or go to [Insert] then [Chart].
  5. Chart Wizard Step 1: Select "Pie" from the Standard Types. Click "Next".
  6. Chart Wizard Step 2: Look at the preview screen. Does this look correct?Click "Next".
  7. Chart Wizard Step 3:
    On the "Titles" tab, type "Investment Totals" in the "Chart Title" box.
    On the "Data Labels" tab, check off "Category Names". Click "Next".
  8. Chart Wizard Step 4: Select "As New Sheet". Type "1. Investment Totals" as the title.
Activity 2:
  1. Highlight B2:12
  2. Hold down "Ctrl"
  3. Highlight F2:F12 and AB2:AB12 (be sure NOT to include G3-AA3)
  4. Select "Chart Wizard"
  5. Step 1: In "Chart Type" select "Column" and Click "Next"
  6. Step 2: Look at the sample. Does this look correct? If yes, click "Next". If it doesn't look correct, try highlighting the data again (Cancel).
  7. Step 3: Titles Tab: "Tracking Company Totals"; X Axis: "Company"; Y Axis: "Investment". Click "Next"
  8. Step 4: Location: As New Sheet "2. Company Totals"
  9. Click Finish
Activity 3:
  1. Highlight 1 company symbol of your choice, then (using Ctrl) highlight the cells that contain the Share Prices of that company's stock (columns D, G, J, M, Q, T, X, AA). Don't let go of the Ctrl button! So if the company you want is in cell B3, Select B3, D3, G3, and so on. If you make a mistake in highlighting, start over.
  2. Click on Chart Wizard.
  3. Create a Line Chart that tracks the stock price of this company. In Step 4, remember to save it as "3. Tracking Share Prices".
Activity 4:
  1. Design a chart that compares the original share prices in column D of your stocks. Rather than company name, use the symbol. This should be a column chart. In Step 4, save it as "4. Original Price Comparison".
Activity 5:
  1. Design a chart that tracks or compares the OVERALL TOTALS (row 13 only) for each check (include the "Investment" total in F13 too).In Step 4, save it as "5. Comparing Overall Totals".
