History
Gordon is enjoying his third full season with the Red
Deer Rebel. A native of Saskatchewan, Gordon has become a key player in
the success of one of the better teams in the CHL. The Memorial
Cup-winning Rebel are the favorites to take the WHL crown for the second
straight year. Gordon was selected to participate in the annual top
prospects game this February.

Talent Analysis
Although Gordon isn't a particularly big nor physical player, he has
above-average passing and shooting skills. A deceptively quick skater,
Gordon has good on-ice vision and has exhibited good hockey habits over
the years. Gordon has shown over the years that he is willing to go to
the net and play along the boards. |

Future
Gordon doesn't stand out in a specific category, like height or physical
play. However, he has done a good job of minimizing weaknesses in his
tenure with the Red Deer Rebel.
"This year my goals have changed. I have more of an offensive role
this year. Last year I was more of a checking player. I think as I
progress with age my role has been changed along with it.
I really don't know how it will go. I've been trying to play really
well and get (as many points as possible). I want to be able to put
myself in good position for the draft coming up." -- Boyd Gordon Boyd is
projected to go in the middle to the end of the second round in the NHL
Entry Draft by the Prospect Advisor. |
