It is always a challenge to understand how certain components in an Operating system work.  It is more a challenging if it is Windows as not many of them have knowledge about the same.  For some time, I have been blogging about the Smart Card Infrastructure in Windows.  With the huge bets by many countries on developing and deploying National IDs based on Smart Card, the understanding of how this would work with Windows is of prime importance as it is one of the dominant desktops.

Is it a fact that the success of any National ID program based on Smart Card technology will depend on how well it works with Windows?
