| Sonomi is Tomoyo's mother. She's also a successfull CEO of a toy company. She was the best friend of Sakura's mother, Nadesiko. The two were very close as girls and Sonomi has never gotten over the fact that her best friend got married. Sonomi didn't approve of Nadesiko's choice of husband. She felt her friend deserved someone wealthy who would keep her in luxury, not a poor, young teacher. Sonomi was very blind of Nadesiko's happiness, unfortunately. Upon discovering Sakura is Nadesiko's daughter, Sonomi develops an adoration for her daughter's best friend and encourages Sakura to spend a lot of time at their house. In the french serie, Sonomi's name is Suzanne. |
