II- Basics
Name: Sakura
Name meaning: 'Sakura' means 'cherry blossoms' in Japanese.
Age: 16. Sakura thinks she's only 15 though.
Gender: Ma...NO! IT'S FEMALE!!!
Race: Human
Likes: Sakura likes meadows and grass fields, especially the one found in between Xuan and Mung. It was a perfect place to escape from the hassles of daily life and a good place to be with oneself. She has a peculiar liking for cherry blossoms. She says that whenever she watches the delicately fragrant pink petals falling to the ground from the tree, it has a calming and soothing effect for a stressed-out individual. For some reason, Sakura likes the color black and the shadows. She was asked why once and she answered that it was like the darkness could be hiding something and that you can never be sure with it. She seemed to have related herself to the dark. Also, Sakura has an obsession for her cape, her hair and swords.
Dislikes: Sakura couldn't stand light because her eyes are light sensitive. That's why she always has to wear a pair of tinted glasses during the day. She also hates spicy food. She doesn't know why but her mouth gets easily burned whenever she tries to eat the spicy food and she doesn't like it a lot. She dislikes other people's presence, her family included, near her. Loud noises really irritate her and she absolutely stays away from dogs. His Mung mage friend Baba-Fa Mei had once told him that dogs could smell what a person really is, regardless of any 'perfect disguise'. And since he's disguising as a girl, you get the idea.
Hobbies: Sakura spends most of her free time cleaning and polishing the blades of her katanas. She wants it to be in tip-top shape and look good at the same time. When she isn't doing that, she could be seen in a quiet place, alone. There she would appear to be thinking deeply about something. She also spends time watching things that seem to catch her attention. Sakura is also interested in watching different kinds of birds.
Strengths: Being trained in the art of sword fighting ever since she had learned to walk, Sakura's sword skills are something to be feared. She can also keep a calm head in times of emergencies enabling her to think the situation over in a logical manner and devise an appropriate strategy for it.
Weaknesses: Sakura totally avoids having responsibilities. She has to be forced into accepting them. Sometimes, she tends to be a bit too cold towards others. Also, Sakura's eyes are sensitive to light.
Goals: Sakura wants to find a mysterious jewel, the 'Jewel of Wishes', one that was said to grant whoever finds it their innermost desire. In her case, it is complete freedom.

III- Deeper... go Deeper.
Appearance: Sakura is fairly tall for a sixteen year old girl, about 5'8 in height and weighs at roughly a hundred and forty pounds. She has pale tan skin that covers her slightly muscular frame. She has an oval face with a pointed nose and chin, a pair of long narrow black eyebrows and a pair of sharp, narrow scarlet red eyes, framed by thick ebony black locks. Her hair is kept long, reaching past her waist save for the parts in the outer width. These parts are 1/4 the length of the rest of her hair, allowing them to hang over her shoulders. Her semi-unkempt bangs are parted in the middle and their longest points reach above her chin. Also, her hair covers her ears.
For clothes, Sakura wears a black full bodysuit under a short frilly white dress with billowy long sleeves and a pleated skirt. Over the dress is a sleeveless wrap-around purple vest trimmed with pale yellow. Then she wears a large light pink ribbon tie around her neck, under her dress' collar. The ribbon is big enough to cover her chest area. A pair of thick, short brown leather gloves and high-cut black leather boots with lilac flip-tops finish her outfit.
No girl is found without any accessories. For Sakura, she adds a long brown hooded cloth cape, whose ends are worn with travel, to her outfit. The cape is held together by a lilac-colored crystal brooch at the base of her neck. She is always seen wearing a fairly large pair of moss-green-tinted glasses during the day. Lastly, a wide black leather belt sits askew on her waist. The hilts of Sakura's two swords are attached to it.
Personality: Sakura is a carefree spirit. She doesn't take things too seriously at first unless she is totally compelled to. She doesn't care much about things not concerning her either. Because of that, people tend to think of her as a cold heartless young woman. She totally hates handling responsibilities. Sakura believes she's not good with it but she's not just about to admit that. She doesn't like trying her best to do something, except when it comes to her sword fighting. That is something she's truly proud of.
As Sakura avoids having responsibilities, she avoids other people as much as possible. And to do that, she puts up a cold air around herself to act as a barrier. She acts to be uncaring and tends to pick on others. The members of her family are no exception for this behavior either. She becomes defiant and rebellious towards them.
As far as Sakura's personality goes, she is calm, cool-headed and has an above- average level of intelligence. Little emotion could be seen in her face and her alto voice has a cold tone to it. On another note, Sakura is a huge fanatic for swords.
History: Sakura hails from the Far East, in the City of Xuan to be exact. She belonged to the Xuan Royal Family, the head of which is the leader of the city.
Nobuhiko Sakura was born 16 years ago, on the exact day the dreaded Shisoku occured after the 300-year lapse. The Leader of Xuan and his wife didn't realize it until two days later, when they were given reports of the deaths of all new-borns; human, animal, plants and even monsters. Vaguely remembering the legend of the Demon King and the Holy King, the Leader of Xuan and his wife decided to keep the birth of their son a complete secret. They knew that if the Huang Kingdom heard about Nobuhiko, the Huangs would surely try to kidnap him to use for their own purposes. So for a year, Nobuhiko never existed. His parents also hid this fact from him. Nobuhiko grew up not knowing of his infanthood.
Being the son of the Xuan leader, Nobuhiko was made to undergo various training and lessons in order to prepare him for him future role as the next leader of Xuan. His training was difficult and his family was very strict on him. The reason why they were so hard on him was to have him grow up into a good and kind leader, just like the Holy King. The other reason why was because they were afraid he might become another Demon King and cause another era of darkness.
In addition to his studies, Nobuhiko was also sent to study at the neighboring tribe of the Mungs under their leader, the Mother Oracle. All would-be Xuan leaders were sent here. In doing so, they believed, would bestow upon the would-be leaders great wisdom and power.
Unknown to the Xuan leader, the Mungs knew about Nobuhiko, or rather the Child of the Shisoku. He was the prophesied child the Mother Oracle had spoken of decades ago. The Mungs also wished for another Holy King so they did all they could to mold Nobuhiko into a good leader.
The problem is, he didn't want any of it.
Unknown to the members of the Royal Family, Nobuhiko was beginning to detest the restricted lifestyle he was being made to lead. He grew tired of doing their every bidding to the point that he was almost like a servant. The only time he could escape from his duties was when he was going to the Mung Village.
There in the village, Nobuhiko befriended an old Mung mage who was deemed an outcast by the other villagers. This mage had been telling him stories about the far-off lands and the lives of other people in these lands. Nobuhiko was fascinated with the old mage but what fascinated him the most was the mage's way of life. To him, his friend's way of life is like a new thing, very different from what he had been taught by his mentors. It was because of this old mage that Nobuhiko decided to life his own life the way he wanted to.
However, his family didn't approve of this. It was not to be of the next leader of Xuan, they said and it made Nobuhiko angry with them. But he could not do anything about it, at least while he's staying inside the palace...
One of Nobuhiko's restrictions was befriending just any kind of people. His family dictates who will be his friend and who won't, the exception being the Mungs. But little did they know that Nobuhiko defied that very rule.
It was a man named Kumo, who was appointed to be Nobuhiko's butler. At first, Nobuhiko was wary of Kumo but he later grew quite attached to him. Kumo, knowing that he loved to hear stories outside of Xuan, had been telling him about his grand adventures to the Far West. Since Nobuhiko haven't heard anything much about the West, he was immediately hooked.
As days went by, Kumo noticed there was a sudden change in Nobuhiko's behavior. He became defiant, rebellious even, whenever a relative would talk to him. He became worried about his charge and decided to find out the reason why.
Nobuhiko told him that he wanted to leave the palace, saying that he felt like he was only but a prisoner there. Kumo felt sympathy for him and decided to tell him yet another story, this time about a fabled treasure. This treasure was a mystical jewel known to grant whoever finds it their most secret and deepest desires. Kumo encouraged Nobuhiko to find the jewel and then ask it to give him his freedom.
But there was a slight problem. When Kumo told Nobuhiko about the jewel, he told him that only girls could invoke the jewel's power and have their wishes fulfilled. Frustrated, Nobuhiko tried to think of a way until Kumo told him that if Nobuhiko would begin to live as a girl from now on, the jewel would believe his true intentions and grant his wish. Nobuhiko, having no other choice, agreed.
So one night, when everyone was asleep, Nobuhiko (now Sakura), with the help of Kumo, slipped out of the palace and eventually out of Xuan. He had decided to leave his homeland to find the fabled 'Jewel of Wishes'.
Of course, the Royal Family later found out about his disappearance, but they chose not to disclose it in fear of the Huang Kingdom breaking the uneasy truce between the two nations. They did send some agents in secret to find and retrieve Nobuhiko at any cost.
Kumo accompanied Nobuhiko/Sakura until they passed through the Village of Rashkuta, as traversing through the Desert of Death would be suicidal. There, Kumo bid good-bye to him and promised to take care of the family,. But before leaving, he gave him a final warning never to tell anyone about the Jewel, else it will lose its powers. Nobuhiko/Sakura agreed and then left to go further into the West.
However, Kumo didn't return to Xuan. Instead, he went back to Huang and told the Baron that he had finally accomplished his mission: to get rid of the Xuan Prince, the next leader of Xuan.

IV- Battle Style
Weaponry: A pair of katanas. The one that serves as Sakura's main weapon is about 5 feet long and the other is a couple of inches shorter than the first. Since she had undergone extensive training in handling a sword ever since she had begun to walk, she is very skilled with it.
Magic and Affinity: Sakura has an affinity for Moon magic. It just might be why she seemed to be so calm-headed. During her combat training, she was also given a short lecture about using magic. She didn't care much about using magic since it was quicker to just attack rather than waste a few seconds doing a silly chant. She did have the mind to at least learn the basic curatives though. She's still learning on how to use magic effectively so her spells are a little on the weak side.
Skills: Sakura has excellent skill with a sword. She had undergone extensive training for combat as to be able to defend herself. It was a requirement since the leader of Xuan must be a great warrior that should the need arises; he'd be ready to defend his kingdom. One thing to note is that among all of her lessons, sword fighting was her favorite. It allowed her to release all the stress and tension she had accumulated. Currently, she is mastering the art of using the dual-sword style.
Battle Style: Usually, Sakura doesn't join in fights, especially if she feels like she has nothing to do with them. She would care less about what kind of reason the others have for fighting. But if she is caught in an unavoidable battle, she will reluctantly pick up her sword and try to get the whole thing done and over with quickly. One thing to note is that you can never really depend on her to protect you, unless she thinks so otherwise.
