-Humans-
These should be, by far, the most common of the species found in this nameless world. They come in a variety shapes, shades and sizes, being fairly diverse creatures. Humans can usually succeed in whatever they set their minds to, be it strength, knowledge, magic or something else. They're truly cunning, and use what resources are available to them with fervor, for better or worse. The unfortunate stereotype against humans is that they're terminally greedy, self-serving creatures who will do anything if it's in their own interest. Click here to see what a human looks like.
-Rashkutans-
According to Legend, the Rashkutans were once humans who were the direct servants of the Demon king. Their city, which lay to the far east, was nestled on an island in the middle of a gigantic sea. After the disappearance of the Demon King, they worshipped the four gods of the abyss instead. When the Divine King ascended to the throne, as punishment, the Rashkutans all became horribly disfigured; They were made to look as if they were half man, half elephant. Now relatively reclusive, the Rashkutans have lost any semblances of their malicious past and live happily and peacefully. They come in various colors, with skin tones ranging from reds and blues to tans or greens, and all are a bit taller than the average human. Click here to see what a Rashkutan looks like.
-Demons-
There are three major types of demons. The first, archdemons, make up the upper crust of the demonic social sphere. Even the weakest of archdemons are incredibly powerful. The four demon gods were (and are) considered the most powerful of the archdemons. However, they are confined to the abyss for the most part and cannot venture outside unless their respective elemental gates are opened- each has an elemental affinity, just like all creatures.
Lesser demons make up the bottom part of the demonic social sphere. Lesser demons are far more common on the mortal plane, and while it IS difficult for them to pass from world to world, it is possible. Many were actually born ON the mortal plane and have no ability (or desire) to venture into the abyss. Lesser demons have some special abilities, but nothing to rival the sheer power of an archdemon. And let's remember- not all demons are "evil," per se.
The final class of demons are the Demon Blooded. These... aren't even regarded as demons by their kin, though they most certainly are by humans and other races. Demon Blooded are humans (or other creatures) Who have received some demonic blood from a relative in their family tree. Whereas Lesser demons have some control over their appearance, the Demon Blooded do not and almost all of them have some sort of physical disfigurement, be it an extra eye, tails, claws, wings, gills, horns, whatever- the possibilities are limitless. Demon Blooded are usually ostracized by most of society. Click here to see what a typical demon looks like.
-Fairies-
The fairies live deep in the jungles south of Ake in a rather large city hidden in the treetops. They are small, colorful creatures, standing from anywhere between nine and twenty inches. They're made of almost pure magical energy, and do not physically age past their teens- when they're ready to pass on, they will literally -explode- into their basic essences and return to the flow of magic. This, of course, makes them potent magicians, although this does not limit them in any way from becoming warriors. As a general people, they love to tease and play tricks, and often harass travelers that happen upon their village. They do not venture outside their city often, and as such are highly prized as zoo specimens or even pets. Click here to see what fairies look like.
-Vampires-
The ENTIRE population of vampires can be found in the city of Podol, for there are a rather small number of them. They are ruled by a king, and all reside in his castle as subjects or servants. While they are able to venture outside in daylight, they dislike travel and rarely are found outside of Podol, and even then it is only because their king has sent them on a mission of sorts. Aside from Daylight, they're immune to most other superstitions as well- crosses, garlic, holy water, etc. However, they really, really dislike all of these items. -Farthest Islanders-
The Isle of the Farthest lies on the eastern edge of the world. Yes, that's right- for lack of a better way of putting it, the world is flat. The inhabitants of this very small, very peaceful island are quite strange, in that- well- They're lobster men. Big, tall, anthropomorphic lobster men. They're generally pleasant, and while they are rather shy people (Creatures?), they have been known to befriend and aid sailors. In fact, Sailors and Pirates are the only people who know the Farthest Islanders exist; most people have absolutely no idea who or what these people are and would think them demons if they ran across them on the street.
