You know them. You fear them. They are the roleplayers you dread interacting with. This list aims to classify the different types of bad roleplayers that are out there- and if you see yourself on this list, it aims to help you change your ways. Kay? Kay. :3

The Powergamer- Also known as the God modder, the Powergamer is someone who does everything possible to max out his combat stats so that he has one of the most powerful characters in the game, if not THE most powerful. God modders usually care only about stats and flexing their twinked out muscles toward any other PC in the game who so much as 'steps out of line' with them. Roleplaying is secondary, and in fact many Powergamers will completely ignore any character building scenes but bet he first to show up for any fights. Powergamers are notorious for other types of twink behavior, too, usually The Lemming, and The Rules Lawyer.

The Lemming- If there's a scene going on that she wants in on, she'll break the bounds of time and space if possible to be there. Lemmings have a nasty habit of forgetting they're on the other side of the planet/continent/city/universe and will insta beam themselves into the midst of a scene in progress without coming up with a feasible excuse as for how the character got there in a blinding flash.

The Rules Lawyer- This is possibly one of the more annoying twink types out there. Rules lawyers know the ins and outs of the stat system, along with every little statute regarding game policy on top of it. They will make the rules leap and tuck and roll and do all kinds of acrobatics they were not originally intended to do. This is especially nasty on places that have coded dice systems, for in combat a Rules Lawyer can tie up the scene indefinitely by haggling and cajoling all present into accepting his judgment on the laws of the dice roll and having niggling details on every single roll.

The Whiner- Whiners are the sort who complain about everything, but mostly that they're not getting their way, or that they can't find roleplay. You can suggest a million solutions, but there's always an excuse as to why said solutions won't work. If you offer to roleplay with them, you're patronizing them. If you tell them to actually go ask someone for roleplay, they complain that everyone turns them down, rant about 'cliques' or that people are idle or TSing. You just can't win with these people and should just leave them alone and not play up to their drama. They'll either eventually leave, or finally realize they have to help themselves to get anywhere and do so.

The Curmudgeon- Usually Curmudgeons are older players on a game. They've been there for 'X' amount of time, or were there from the beginning, and are particularly snappish toward newbies and/or staff. They don't roleplay anymore and just log in to chat with other people and bitch about the state of things on the game and lament how the 'good old days' are long gone. Curmudgeons also have it out for the staff, usually, for some personal slight from eons ago that is being held onto as a serious grudge. They'll belittle everything that goes on while doing nothing to help solve the problem.

The Star- Stars must have the action and attention focusing on them at all times. They like to be in the limelight and if for some reason the focus of attention is moved to someone other than them, they will go to any length to get that attention back onto them. This usually means characters who faint, get into trouble, get kidnapped repeatedly, are beaten, raped, or have some other horrible thing happen to have that focus back. Stars are particularly nasty and often turn into Whiners if they can't get that spotlight back within a fairly short period of time.

The Cassanova- This is one slimy individual, who has ulterior motives for roleplay. Usually Cassanovas will hook up with other characters and latch onto them so tightly that it becomes creepy. The Cassanova becomes extremely jealous if his love interest interacts with anyone else, even with alternate characters or in OOC contexts. He will seek to alienate his 'love interest' (victim) from the other players and trap her into one on one scenes (usually tinysex) with only him. This is one of the scarier types, because in most cases the Cassanova will want it to extend to real life as well.

The Sex Fiend- Doesn't matter where they go, Sex Fiends will make a character that's geared for... well, sex. They'll hole up in a room with whoever their latest sex toy is and never see the light of day on the rest of the game. Yaoi, yuri, heterosexual, doesn't matter, though usually the type of sex is determined by the gender of the player. Sex Fiends are not particularly loyal to anyone, either, and don't like to be tied down to just one 'lover', hence they rarely become Cassanovas.

The Idiot- Idiots are the ones who usually end up banned from games. They come in with the expressed purpose of annoying people. Their roleplay is usually geared around breaking as many rules as possible, and annoying as many players as possible. They're trolls, and expect to be eventually booted for their activities.

The Flamer- Here's another fun one. Flamers are the sort who just love to get into fights in an OOC context. The second something controversial rears its head, they're all over it like stink on shit. And they will keep nagging and flaming the other side until the Mod/GM has to step in and tell them to knock it off. Flamers will often go out of their way to cause tension and strife on the game, just so someone will eventually complain OOCly and give them the chance to take up their vicious habit yet again.

The White Hat- The ultimate hero of the game! Also known as the type who will totally go bananas trying to defeat the bad guys immediately. On the grid, if they see anyone who even remotely looks 'evil', they will try to pick a fight with that 'evil' character just to whomp on them. They also seem to have a Jeckyl and Hyde theme going, being very fun roleplayers in most settings, but turning into monsters when it comes to roleplay or combat with 'evil' doers. They will break rules, and twink beyond the call of duty to thoroughly smash the evil doer or even kill said evil doer if the game allows for PC death. They will also scream bloody murder if any evil doer is protected by staff for the sake of continuity or if the evil doer is given higher stats in order to present a decent challenge to the good guys.

The Staff Bane- This is one of the more annoying twinks to the staff, at least. They are the sort who will go to each staffer, in turn, trying to get the answer they are looking for. Staff Banes can't take no for an answer. If Mommy says no, then ask Daddy. If Daddy says no... go to each of the Aunts and Uncles and so on and so forth. Staff Banes also try to ingratiate themselves with the staff in order to procure favors and protection. They aren't always spotted for what they really are, sadly.

The Psycho Star- Psycho Stars are even worse than Stars. While Stars will whine and moan and do things to get the attention focused on them again, Psycho Stars get downright mean and nasty to people who steal the spotlight from them. They go so far as to try to get competition booted from the game, spreading around lies and rumors to players and staff and causing as much of a ruckus as possible to disrupt anything their victims try to do. Psycho Stars can tear apart a game fairly quickly by causing ripples of distrust and anger that echo into eternity.

The Psychic-- Some Psychics are White Hats, some are some of these other types, but they're the ones with "powerful intuition," "photographic memory," or any other trait which will allow them to magically know all the secrets and Achilles' heels of other players, as well as knowing the answer to riddles, "guess" at things that happened in scenes they were nowhere near. Not to mention, they magically know OOC information about characters that they have not found out IC.
