This quilt design is from a pattern for a contest sponsored by The Marion Chronicle and the Marion Public Library in 1930 (Indiana).� It was constructed with 49 (7x7) eight inch blocks, and the embroidered flower blocks alternate with plain blocks.� Cotton floss was used in the embroidery of the flowers, and each flower is unique.� The quilt is bordered with an 8" wide pieced picket fence.� This item is in excellent condition, and it has never been laundered.� The seams are secure, and the quilting is 8 top stitches per inch.� The size of the quilt is 73" x 75". |
