This is Letter 10....
I has taken me weeks to figure out how to transgfer a file to the page but here it is in all of SHIRLEY's Glory.  I do have fun girls.
First of Two weekends and then MORE.

GIRL and Boys, did I have a good time?

The First weekend (August 26th, 2000) was the Saturday Croquet Match.  I didnt win but I sure looked good with the mallet.

It was a Saturday drive north.  I stopped almost everywhere looking for a 20-foot car trailer.  Nobody has one that I can afford.  I went to KMART and found a great top that fits and looks good too.  It is white, I guess you call it a swoop neckline.  I love it but I must get more colors in my cloths.

Got to the Motel and unpacked the car.  What a job.  Check the list of things to pack on page 9.  Anyway, shower, cloths, makeup and off to hit the Croquet balls.  It was a pot luck food thing so I had stopped earlier and bought a chocolate cake. The poor thing slid a little and had a flat side.  I guess I was cornering too fast.  I was wearing my new top, my tan A line skirt and my WHITE Sandles.  I LOVE THAT LOOK, Really. Picture later.  Clean, fast, attractive, oops, older woman.  You young girls, take care of the body, NOW.

So we talked and told stories and hit the balls.  Then we ate and finished the wine and cake.  That cake was gone, poof.  I had also taken some marinated artichoke hearts.  Very few people seem to like them.  My daughter and I love them.  You should try different foods, girls.

Well the food is gone and the winner is toasted. Its time to go to town.  I must stop and change into my new black top and skirt, so off to the Motel I go.  Short stop and I look great again.  Down to old town and the Chinatown Parking lot.  The cowboy hat is there and lets me park in a safe area.  He is sooooo good to me, I must figure out a way to be good to him.  (No No I couldnt do that, suggestions?)  So I wiggle off to HOBOs for some Vodka, soda and a lime. Squeeze the lime and through it away.  OR please buy me a shot of STOLIES.  The young man at the bar is talkative and knows some people that I do.  We are in a small world girls.   Two of those and out the door for the EMBERS.

They are having coronation of the King and Queen.  I didnt know that because I live in a SMALL town that doesnt get much news.  There were some stunning people around the club that night. I watched the show and headed back to the car.

From the Embers, it is a   block north, turn right(east) and walk 2 blocks to the parking lot.  At about half way this guy in a blue pickup (arent they all) started yelling at me.  He wanted to sell me a CD.  Well thats what he said.  I said NO and NO again. Well, he was not taking NO for an answer and started to get out of the pickup.  About the time he was at the front fender, I had my shoes off and in my hands and was sprinting to the safety of the cowboy hat.  This fat girl can still run.  The nylons are dust but I am safe.  A girl must be aware of things around her.   SO, into the car and off to the Motel.  I had another wonderful day and night in Portland being myself, Shirley.

Sunday I went shopping as my other self, for toe rings.  I bought one but it pinches my toe. It looks like $3.00 not well spent, so sad, and off to home I go.
