Educated in Hong Kong, Shirley came to Toronto in 1998. Though she has studied with well-known artists, most of her learning and inspiration come from her observation and self reflection. She enjoys sharing her joy of hands on experience and creativity with art-loving people.
Being an art teacher, Shirley has the passion of expressing the world through a blend of traditional Chinese free-style brush strokes and Western techniques. She paints a variety of subjects from landscape, seacape, flowers and waterfalls to portraits. Her reference materials are from photo imagery and from the World Wide Web. The media she uses include Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor, Chalk, Pastels and Ink.
Shirley is presently a member of the Scarborough Arts Council. She has been involved in the Exhibition at the Bluffs Gallery. As a member of the Markham Group of Artists, Shirley had paticipated in the special project donation for the Markham Arts Council at the Markham Theatre.
