| This is simply a page, which I'm sure you've read from other peoples before, to once again emphasize the evilness of graphic stealing. You squint your eyes, near blind, your hand develops arthritis have clicked for hours in the same position, finally your masterpiece is complete. You save it, upload it, HTML encode it and sigh. Your webpage looks AMAZING. Some bafoon comes along and enjoys your hardwork as well, but instead of taking the time to create his/her own, he copies down the url and img src's it on his page. You have *no* clue, and you can't figure out why your page is taking longer to load, and why your server is screaming at you to cut down on bandwith. So, you decide to search the net. You SCREAM! when you find your image on someone else's page. Not only were they too lazy to make their OWN graphic, but they didn't even ASK you if they could use it. They didn't credit you either, assuming the schoolyard rule of "Finders Keepers." The worst crime, they've linked it from your homepage, not even BOTHERING to upload it to their own webspace. It's sick, isn't it? Solution? Don't do it. If you catch someone doing it, inform the original webpage owner, and tell the loser not to do that. Sending them to this link might help as well ;) If you're a loser who's been sent here, here's a few simple rules to not be sent here again ;) 1) Don't img src off others sites, a lot of webpage servers like Geocities and Angelfire will give you a Not Found page if you try. 2) It might be a bit more effort, but opening up that e-mail program and typing a few sentences in will really help destroy any chances of a ANTI-YOU site. Ask people before you take, same as if it was a physical property you found in their house, hence why it is stealing if you don't. 3) If they say no, it means no. This goes for manga scans too. While they didn't make it, they did buy the manga, take the time to scan it for YOUR viewing pleasure, don't make them take it down by doing something stupid. 4) Saving to your hard drive and printing is really okay! Webpage hosts really don't mind it when you do that, heck, most people don't even know, it's only when you display them on your own webpage is the problem. 5) After you get permission, save it to your hard drive, and then UPLOAD it to your OWN webspace and img src it there. If you don't have enough space it isn't the net communities problem. Try seeking an additional free storage system to give you extra space. 6) All of the above goes for fanfiction, fanart and original character biographies. Strive to be different, that way you'll get more hits because everybody hasn't seen it all before. Like what I did? Wanna show appreciation? Wanna show you agree with Shinigami and are willing to take a stand again graphic theives? You can use the kakkoi banners below ;) Just don't steal -_- and don't forget to link back to this page :)
