Contrary to common belief, the Lion Kingdom was NOT named after the King (whose name is not Leo but Marck), but after the beautiful and stately Queen Cleo.
Here you see King Marck and Queen Cleo. Cleo is certainly the dominant figure in this relationship, she has much say in government affairs. The Lion Kingdom would never have laid such strong foundations if it wasn't for her determination.

One of Queen Cleo's means of transportation is this palanquin. (Thanks to Jeff J. for the definition)

This creation was inspired by a lego idea book (#250) that I saw on Kevin Loch's great site (brickshelf) - he has tons of scanned instructions and catalogs there, not to mention he hosts the Brickshelf Gallery...

If possible, I would've chosen different colors - more blue, for one, and no red - but I had the wrong pieces in the right colors, and vice versa.

Good Prince Franz arrives on his white horse. Franz, Cleo and Marck's son, is in charge of the Ocean Cubs, the army loyal to the king.
Siffera, Franz's fiancee, awaits his arrival. They were to be wed in the spring, when she turns 21, but the wedding might be delayed due to some difficulties with the construction of their new home.

Franz is an only son, and he will inhereit the throne in due time. No rush, though - he wants to be completely ready to perform his duties to the best of his abilities.

Siffera is Lumina's daughter. Her mother, she was told, died in childbirth.

Franz's weapon, the Ellestril, was a gift from Lumina for his twenty first birthday, two years ago. Franz is very skilled with the Ellestril, and many an enemy tried fruitlessly to understand the key of its success. But while they might think the secret is pure majick, they are quite mistaken...

Lumina is the royal court magician. He is one of the Big Five magicians, apprenticed by Gareth hinself.
His staff carries one of the mythical power stones, the Water stone.

Lumina is Siffera's father.
