Day 3 Journey to the West

Yes I have reached UIUC safely. The past few days have been like the longest and most chaotic times in my life. So much administrative things to do: registration, health check-up, placement tests, signing up for classes, blah blah. PLus, the other essentials like shopping for bed linens and daily essesntials, unpacking, replying email, blah blah blah....So much to do, in so little time.

But I'm not feeling really really stressed now anyway. It's fine. I can still handle it. I realise that UIUC has a huge compus. But the Singaporean seniors I have here are really really helpful. For the first few days, they just practically brought us around the campus, going to all the different offices to do all the admin stuff. Even after we got familiar with the campus, they still hung around, to offer advice, make sure we are not misinformed, etc etc. I'm so thankful they're around. Everytime I feel even just slightly stressed, I just look at them, I know that they'll take good care of me, and I feel so much more secure.

My life now is just slightly disorganised, a little chaotic. But I'm prepared for this. I know that the initial stages would be like this. I'm still hanging on. I know I can make it.

But I still miss home.
