010102, 2108hr, florida time.

my new year's day went quite simply. we're finally at miami! and man, it's what florida's all about - the sun, the sand, the sea and the palm trees! hahaha.

actually, we've not spent all that much time looking around miami. we spent the morning still in fort lauderdale, at the beach, because the weather was so perfect and we couldn't check into our motel in miami till about 2pm anyway.

the beach was pretty good, though i would still say i prefer the ones we went to at fort pickens and fort walton. the sand wasn't as clean, fine and white. and the place is a lot more crowded. lots of people suntanning, playing in the waters, couples taking walks. plenty of bikini-clad babes too - i'm feeling quite motivated to hit the gyms again next semester. woohoo. hahaha...aiyah, despite all the complaints, i had a good time at the beach. it's the first day of sunny weather in days, and the sun felt really so good. taking off my sandals, kicking water, letting the waves hit my shin [occassionally up to my pants folded up at my knees too - eek], pushing my hair out of my face every 5 seconds, blah blah blah. it was a good time.

i think i've spent too much time in the sun though, came down with a headache in the afternoon, so i spent the rest of the day in the room sleeping and resting, while the rest walked around the area around our motel. by the time i woke up, tk was cooking mushroom soup in the room with the hot pot, so i had mushroom soup for dinner with priya, while the others had ramen.

so in all, my new year's day is quite boring. but looking better, i guess. besides the headache, i think the sun did me good. guess it is a good start to year 2002. happy new year, everyone!
