Actually if you ask me 10 years ago what kind of friends I like, Ming is definitely going to sound like the direct opposite of my ideal friend.
For one thing, she really bullies me. There's no such thing as "letting Cindy down gently" when she starts insulting me. Being the soft-spoken introvert that I am (hehe), I'm usually left speechless. For the 6 years of friendship with her, for the first 2 years, there has been times when I burst out crying in our arguments. Our friends would then start defending me and reprimanding Ming. I think she resented that. Hehe. But in a sadistic way, I liked her bullying me. My argumentative skills have been learnt from her and I have never been reduced to tears by anyone else anymore. In fact, I am considered one of the "masters" in insult-ology ( study of insults) nowadays with my newer friends. All thanks to the exposure I had from talking to Ming. Ming has to be one of the most special friends I have. In a way, she is unique because I know she is one person I can trust to scold me when I need it. |
