About the Music
Each dancer chooses her own favorite music. There is a wide range of oriental music in different styles from different places in the world: Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon and more. Here you can find a list of my favorite albums:
Sharif
Sharif, who got famous more than 15 years ago as "Sharif the Druse kid", is not a kid anymore, he is married and a father to a kidd of his own. In the mid of his twentieth, Sharif is a charismatic singer with amazing vocal abilities, who has already published 16 albums. His most protruding albums are "Sharif sings Zohar Argov", "Hafla with Sharif", "To Love", "Innocent Love" and "Live Show in Jordan" part a and part b. My favorite album is "Sharif's hits in Arabic" which contains some of the best Arabic classic hits.
Sharif, who is a distant relative of the legendary
Farid El Atrache (originally a lebanese druse) is a rare phenomenon in the sky of oriental singing, and all this talent is right here in Israel
Sharif's albums can be found in record stores all over the country
Hakim
Hakim is one of the most charismatics and popular singers in Egypt today.  His music is very rhythmical, original and sometimes even humorous. It is very difficult to find Hakim's albums in Israel, but if you'll visit Dalya (Dalyet El Karmel, a beautiful Druse village in the north of Israel) you may find his albums in the local record stores and you might find other oriental albums recommended by the locals.
Visiting Dalyet El Karmel is highly recommended if you're into oriental dancing, you can find beautiful veils and cheap costumes
Amr Diab
Amr Diab is one of the most popular singers in Egypt today.
The hit "Nour El Ain" reached the top of hit parades all over the world and in Israel as well. Popular "Nour El Ain" was performed by singers all over the world, Sharif and Ishtar (the soloist of Alabina) among them.
Amr Diab's songs are very melodic, so some of you might prefer the rhythmical drums of Hakim.
Amr Diab's most popular album "Nour El Ain" can be found in record stores all over the country
Zahava Ben
I have to admit I am not very familiar with most of Zahava Ben's albums, but one of the best albums I've come up against during the last few years is "Zahava ben sings in Arabic". This album includes performances of wonderful songs such as "Inta Omri" of Umm Kulthum, "Haramt Ahibak" of Warda and "Sawah" of Abdel Halim Hafez
A Real Celebration !
