Rufus Shinra
This is a "Tragedy" story. It makes you feel sorry for poor little Rufus. :'(
and if it doesn't make you feel sorry, you are some heartless person........
jk! but it must make you feel somewhat saddened.....
Oh, I might just rate this one ages 12 and Up. Just because there is minor swearing
Well, I call it "justified swearing"
Nikurashii frowned. �Rufus! You are always so annoying! Just, go! Go to bed already!� she told him.
Young Rufus Shinra just looked up at her.
�You really needn�t be so mean,� he told her, his pale blue eyes locking on to her.
His mother just frowned. �You are always so underfoot! Oh doesn�t matter, I�m sure your father will get you out of the way for a while.� Nikurashii narrowed her eyes at him. Rufus just slowly went upstairs.
�She�s so mean to me, Dark Nation� Rufus fought back tears. Rufus never cried. His Guard Hound, Dark Nation rubbed against him.
�I don�t think she�s my real mom, father says she is, but she looks nothing like me at all� Rufus petted Dark Nation.
It was true that Nikurashii looked nothing like Rufus. She was pale and way too skinny. Her fingers were long and bony and her hair was jet black and stringy, not thick and blonde like Rufus�. She wore all black and she had piercing, cold green eyes that seemed to stare through.
�She�s evil, she�s not nice at all. And she hates me and you� Rufus told Dark Nation. �You know, Dark Nation, I bet she�s not my real mom!� Rufus changed into some pajamas and got into bed. Dark Nation jumped up and slept next to him.
The next morning Nikurashii�s shrill voice woke him up.
�Get out of bed you lazy brat!! You are WAY past schedule!!�
Rufus opened one eye. The clock read 5:35 AM. Usually he was up by 5:30 AM, (Nikurashii�s orders)
�Hurry up or you get no breakfast!! Hurry up! The cook will make you breakfast!� she shrieked. Rufus slowly got up.
�I hate this, Dark Nation, I�m so tired. I wonder if other 6 year olds have to wake up so early?� Rufus pushed his hair back.
�Don�t talk to your stupid dog, Rufus!� Nikurashii yelled. �And your room is atrocious! Clean it up you lazy son of a�� but her voice trailed off.
�Oh, goodbye honey!� Nikurashii was referring to President Shinra as he left the house for the Shinra Headquarters.
�NOW CLEAN!� she barked and left the room.
�I hate her! She�s a stupid bitch!� Rufus quietly told Dark Nation. �She calls me a bitch, and I guess that its not a nice word to call someone, so I guess I can call her a bitch too, right?� Dark Nation just yawned.
Rufus made his bed and fixed his desk.
�You know, Dark Nation, we have servants to do this, but she makes me do it myself. I don�t like her, or waking up so early for that matter. My tutor isn�t due to arrive until 8:30, why can�t I just sleep until 7:00? I think she enjoys making me suffer.� Rufus told his doglike companion.
�You still talking to that dumb animal? It can�t possibly respond you idiot!� Nikurashii yelled at him. �Get into the kitchen NOW!� she commanded.
Rufus remained silent. He never cried about anything that she told him, he learnt to just shrug it off and if he concentrated on his hatred for Nikurashii, it counteracted anything nasty she told him.
Rufus ate his breakfast.
�I don�t even get to choose my own breakfast,� he thought to himself as he ate the oatmeal. I guess its good, but I never get to eat stuff I read about in books or magazines� he thought to himself.
�I can�t wait for Father to get home, at least she�s not mean to me when he�s around�
President Shinra didn�t really care too much for his son either, he�d rather just hand the boy a large sum of gil to keep him happy. He liked to solve all his son�s problems with pocket money, much how he solved the worlds problems.
After Rufus� tutor left the house, Rufus asked his mother if he could go to Shinra HQ.
�I guess you can, just don�t bother the executives, and don�t make yourself noticed, and only be there for thirty minutes!� she yelled in that nasally, shrilly voice.
Rufus practically raced out of the house, barely remembering the �no running in the house� rule. For at least thirty minutes he was free.
Rufus was hoping to get at least 30,000 gil out of his father. He wanted to buy a few things, mainly some Materia, at the stores.
�Come on Dark Nation! We better hurry before she changes her mind!�
Young Rufus Shinra ran as fast as he could, forgetting his small pistol, sitting in him room.
Rufus slowed down. �Whoa Dark Nation, that�s not good!� A group of scorpion like creatures ambushed him. �Uh oh! Attack them Dark Nation!� Rufus reached for his pistol.
�NO! I forgot it at home!� Rufus looked scared.
Fortunately for him a woman with long blonde hair jumped between Rufus and the scorpions.
Without a word she swung her glaive and pounded the creatures, killing them in one hit.
�WOW! Thank you!� Rufus smiled.
The woman gazed at him. �What are you doing out here with no weapon?� She asked him softly.
�I didn�t mean to, I just left in such a hurry because I want to see my dad, in the Shinra HQ� Rufus told her.
�My name is Shiori, what�s your name?� the woman asked him.
�I�m Rufus Shinra,� he told her proudly
�Rufus�. Shinra�oh.� Shiori had a look of sadness in her eyes.
�Why do you look sad?� Rufus asked her innocently.
�Oh, don�t worry� Shiori forced a smile. �You are a cute little kid,� she told him, her blue eyes shining.
�Your mother loves you very much,� she told him.
�My mother? You have to be mistaken, because my mother hates me. She doesn�t like me or my guard hound here.� Rufus looked away.
�Maybe she�s not your real mother�only an imposter could not like a sweet child like you� Shiori told him. In her mind she was fighting back the urge to kill this woman.
�Tell me, what does she do to you?� Shiori asked him.
�Oh, she yells at me all the time. She�s beaten me within an inch of my life once, but she always uses Cure Materia on me, so there is always no proof that she�s doing this to me. Father is way too wrapped up in his own business to even notice me. Sometimes he just pays me to leave him alone. One time I didn�t get any dinner because Dark Nation here growled at her. She doesn�t let me sleep either. She�s always telling me I�m annoying, or in her way. Or she tells me that I�m a stupid bitch.� Rufus� eyes narrowed and he clenched his fists together. �I hate her so much I could just KILL her.�
Shiori gasped. �That sick %(#*@)$!!! How dare she treat my son this way? And to think she�s passing herself off as his mother!� she thought to herself
Shiori�s eyes brimmed with tears.
�Rufus���promise me something���promise me you�ll remain strong. Never let her see you in a weak moment. Never let her see your guard down. Your real mother would be proud.� She added in a rush
�My real mother? So she�s not my mom?� Rufus stared at Shiori.
Shiori nodded. �Yes�I�knew your mother. She loved you very much. But Mr. Shinra had his ways of removing her.
He just used your mother to create the perfect son for him. He chose the most beautiful woman, chose her like a person chooses an animal for a pet.
She was just a pet to him. Your mother was pure� Shiori�s eyes narrowed.
�And then, when his son was born he just tossed her out, and told her if she ever came within distance of Rufus he�d have her killed.� Shiori clenched her fists.
She knew if she told Rufus that she was his mother, he�d want to leave home and go with her and President Shinra would know, and they�d never be able to escape.
Rufus looked pale. �I want to see my mother, please, you�ve got to take me to her, Shiori!�
�I�m sorry, I just can�t, Rufus, you must never tell anyone that we met, ok?� Shiori told him quickly.
�But�� Rufus pleaded. �Then, kill Nikurashii! You are a fighter, you could kill her I�m sure!�
�I�m sorry, but I cannot. Rufus, dear child, goodbye.� Shiori threw down a vial containing heavy smoke. When the smoke cleared, she was gone.
Rufus stood there looking confused. �Dark Nation, do you think she was telling the truth? Or was she a made up image in my mind? She seemed so unreal� Rufus started to walk towards the Shinra Building.
�Stop right there, Rufus!� a shrill nasally voice commanded. Rufus cringed. Only one person could make that voice�he turned around. Nikurashii stood in the horizon.
�Who was that woman you were with? HUH?!� She barked at him.
�No one, why did you follow me?� Rufus asked her boldly.
�Why? I have my rights! That woman could of killed you, now tell me, Rufus, who was she? Tell me, or you�ll regret it.� Her cold eyes burned through him.
�NO I won�t! I won�t let you hurt her! She�s much nicer than you anyway, prettier too.� Rufus� heart burned with a fiery desire. He felt braver than he normally did.
�Insolent boy! I�ll teach you some respect!� Nikurashii slapped Rufus and hurled a small shock of Bolt1 Materia at him.
�You stupid���bitch��.� Rufus spat, unaware of the bottled up anger he had rooted in his heart.
�What did you call me?� She spat at him, trembling in anger.
�You heard me, you are a stupid bitch! You call me that all the time, who shouldn�t I call you it? Shiori is nothing like you!� Rufus yelled at her. His eyes went wide with fright. He just said Shiori�s name to her.
�Shiori? Oh, that�s her�she�s come�oh how dare she!� Nikurashii�s eyes gleamed. �You�ve just killed her, Rufus. You uttered her name, now she�ll die, you idiot!� Nikurashii laughed with glee.
�NO!� Rufus kicked her and ran off �come on Dark Nation, let�s go!� Rufus ran off in the direction he thought Shiori went.
�Shinra Attack Squad? Yes this is Nikurashii, send me the SOLDIERS, we are going after the rebellious woman, Shiori.� Nikurashii spoke into her radio unit�
�Shiori! Shiori!!!� Rufus yelled out.
�SHIORI!!!! Please! You�ve got to come out! Nikurashii is going to kill you!�
Rufus looked around him. Shiori was no were to be found.
�Then let her come for me� her voice called out.
�Shiori?!� Rufus smiled, there she was, high above a building.
�Rufus, don�t worry. Don�t let anything she does scare you. Rule over her with fear. You are soon to be Vice President Rufus of Shinra Inc; you have more over her than she has over you. Control this world with fear, Rufus.�
�There she is! Attack!!!� Nikurashii yelled
�Never forget who you are, Rufus. You are Rufus Shinra.� Shiori told him softly, speaking her last words to him before everything went dark.
Rufus looked down.
�You killed her, you stupid wench!� his chest rose and he fought to keep in control. He slowly raised his head to look Nikurashii straight in the eye.
�You are nothing to me, and no matter what you do, I�ll always prevail. You just wait, you�ll be sorry. After all, I�m soon to be Vice President Rufus Shinra. I�ll control the word with fear, starting with you�
Rufus picked up a dagger that was on Shiori�s belt.
�Hit me again, and I�ll slit you and kill you. Don�t think I won�t� Rufus told her, walking off in direction of his home.
Rufus turned to face her again, flicking his hair back.
�Oh, and another thing, mention a word of this to Father, and you�ll be dead.� He told her.
Nikurashii just trembled. Despite her foreboding appearance and the things she did to Rufus in the past, she was just a wimp herself. She had never expected Rufus to rebel and now that he did, she was scared.
Aftermath:
Rufus grew to have a semi-comfortable life, �controlling� Nikurashii with fear.
Later, when Rufus was much older, Nikurashii learnt of Mr. Shinra�s �hobby� she ended up getting herself killed by Mr. Shinra,
who in turn ended up getting a bloody Masamune thrust in his chest, thusly the ones who had wronged Rufus met their own deaths.
Dark Sephirothia's Comment:
The name of Nikurashii is actually a word I looked up in my japanese
dictionary. the word nikurashii means "hateful" she's a hateful evil woman who shows no compassion to Young Rufus.
