BIOGRAPHY

Name : Maehara Shinobu Birthdate: November 15, 1985 Blood Type: O Hinatasou Room Number: 201 Seiyuu:Masayo Kurata  The following biography is based on the events in the anime biography last updated:  April 12, 2003   Shinobu is a person that everyone likes, especially at Hinatasou. She almost instantly presents herself as being a selfless person when. A great example of this is during Shinobu's "Good-bye" party, put together by the girls at Hinata and Keitaro. The cooking abilties of the any of the girls did not help them prepare the party as they had no dish prepared as Shinobu arrived with Keitaro to the "party." Shinobu, seeing that the people that are trying, with good intentions, to make dishes for her party, Shinobu instantly decides to help and make the entire meal for her own party by herself, wasting nothing as she managed to salvage the food left from the disaster Naru and Kitsune created. The fact that Shinobu cooked (and cooked pretty well) for her own party is just one of the many examples of her selflessnes. It is qualities like this that makes Shinobu likeable by everyone at Hinatasou, though they may not necessarily show it. Her happiness stems from the happiness of other people. Her needs are second to that of the needs of others. Another aspect of Shinobu that makes her an interesting character is that of her personal growth throughout the series. She begins as a lonely child with no control over her life; guided only by symbolic arrow signs. Her growth begins when she becomes a resident of Hinatasou. She realizes that she has control over her life and that there is not only one arrow sign in her life, but many that point in countless directions. Shinobu realizes that she does not need to run away anymore; she finally understand that her life is her own. Shinobu also sees interpersonal growth also. At the beginning, Shinobu remained the silient kid that speaks almost never and has no friends. Shinobu ultimately befriends Taechi, another kid at school who's also having friendship problems. Shinobu also becomes friends with Su, but it takes Shinobu a while to understand that Su's actions were not hostile, but out of friendship. After Shinobu realizes all that Su has being trying to do for Shinobu, her effort to make Shinobu happy, Su becomes Shinobu's best friend. Shinobu also begins to understand much more about friendship and love. Shinobu also shows a crush for Keitaro throughout the series. Though this crush ultimately goes nowhere, Shinobu still remains extremely kind to Keitaro, despite his affection for Naru and lack of affection (but not lack of caring) for Shinobu. Her crush on Keitaro drives a lot of Shinobu's choices, and these choices end up benifiting everyone at Hinatasou. Her care for Keitaro lead to his and Naru's rescue in the Spring Special. Also, Shinobu had a large part in the final uniting of Keitaro and Naru in Episodes 23-24. Here, Shinobu was the only one that still cared truly about Keitaro. The rest of the girls, unfortunately, either lost hope or stopped caring. Although all the girls, in the end, see that Keitaro has done a lot for them, Shinobu is the one that helps them to realize it. Shinobu was desperate to repay Keitaro for letting her stay at Hinatasou, and it was her willingess to get Naru to talk to Keitaro is what seems to finally unite the promised two. This is what makes Shinobu such a loving character. She understands, eventually, that her love for Keiatro is unrequitted, yet she continues to be the caring character that she is. Although she does show some envy for Naru when she is with Keitaro, Shinobu does not really hate her or Keitaro for it. Her happiness lies in Keitaro's happiness. Shinobu casts her feelings for Keitaro aside and tries to do what is best for Keitaro and unite him with Naru. It is her growth and challenges throughout the series that makes Shinobu Shinobu. She becomes one of the strongest characters by the end of the series from the lessons and experiences she went through. And as always... Shinobu, FAITO! Shinobu, fight! - Front Field to Remember
