I began my research career as an undergrad at SUNY-Stony Brook, where I majored in both psychology and philosophy. I did my undergrad research and honors thesis under the more than capable direction of Dr. Dan Klein on the role of control in the comorbidity between depression and Binge Eating Disorder.
After my work as an undergrad I took a year off, and performed research at Pilgrim State Psychiatric Institute (W.Brentwood, NY) with Dr. Susan McGurk of the Mount Sinai School of Medecine department of psychiatry. We studied cognitive determinants of vocational outcome in schizophrenia. Otherwise said, we wanted to see what cognitive defecits that plague inpatient schizophrenics prevented them from getting and/or keeping jobs.
As I stated previously, I am currently a graduate student of clinical psychology at Kent State University. My research interests include the role of cognitive/information processing biases in depression and depressive realism, the role of attributional processes in depression, and multivariate statistics. I also enjoy neologisms, not so much researching them as producing them. My advisor is the honorable Dr. Dave Fresco. |
