The Emergence of Shinkyokushinkai karateMaster our mind

In April 1994, the kyokushinkai family was crying the death of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama who was suffering from lung cancer. We all know about the ‘saga’ which followed the death of Sosai. The following message was stated by our president Shihan Kenji Midori in October 2003:-

Kyokushin karate is a great cultural and spiritual heritage established by late Sosai Masutatsu Oyama’s utmost efforts which our country can be proud of to the world. The words by Sosai, saying “ With our head low and our eyes high, with moderate words and generous heart, we will benefit others, on the basis of piety” are the essence of kyokushin. Now we have taken over the will of Sosai by starting our renewed organization, “ Shinkyokushinkai” with its three valuable missions, ‘Youth Education’, ‘International Communication’ and ‘Social Contribution’, to step forward to spread bushido spirits and Budo( Martial Art) karate world wide. For that purpose, we will daily continue our efforts in training to succeed the pride and the spirit of kyokushin karate, and will also continue our contribution to the world peace through promoting our positive activities as a Non-Profit organization.

  Words of Shihan Kenji Midori

Formation of Shinkyokushinkai’s Philosophy

The mind, the skill and the body.

This mark expresses the formation of ‘Mind’. The original idea of kyokushin comes from the innermost secret; “You learn the basics after one thousand days of training. You master your mind after ten thousand days of training.” This mark also expresses the unification of mind, skill and body which is essential for fostering the spirit of budo.

Philosophy of shinkyokushinkai karate :-    MASTER OUR MIND

“We want to seek the most powerful Budo karate.”…

With this expectation, “Shinkyokushinkai” was established to contribute to world peace, by mastering our mind

"Many people have written, asking me if I have information about who is the real person in charge of the Kyokushin Organization. I have already some pages to explain and talk about the split groups, so this page will be more a recollection of the legal battle to establish the true about who should be the successor of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama. Of course there are more than just the legal side that you would like to take into consideration in order to determine who should be in charge of the Kyokushin Organization.

When
Sosai Masutatsu Oyama died the branch chiefs around the world was told that there was a will left by Sosai Oyama, and in that will said that Shihan Shokei Matsui was the one chosen to lid the Kyokushin Organization. Most of the branch chief respected the will of Sosai Oyama and give their support to Shihan Shokei Matsui. However, months later it was learn that the will was not signed by Sosai Oyama him selves but only by the witness. One of big problem was that the witness were the same person who were named as beneficiaries. As a results the validity of the will was question very seriously. As a consequence Shihan Yukio Nishida And Sosai Oyama's wife take this case to the Court and after long process the court of Japan declare that the will has not legal ground, and declare the will null, in the main court. The split of the Kyokushin Organization become inevitable, there were to bad thing said by the different groups that created to much hate between them which make almost impossible to get along each other.

Since the Death of
Sosai Oyama 3 mayor groups have been created and Branch Chiefs have but not others choice than take side, supporting one or another. Below there are some documents that have been release during this battle for power. This information have the intention to answer some question that people had made to me, instead of me answer them, I am posting this information so they can found their own answers. However we should not forget that Kyokushin is only one, the division is because of personal and political differences, but if you visit any Kyokushin school from different groups you will see that they all do the same Kyokushin. Of course you would find better teacher than others o teachers with more knowledge that others. You would find small differences on how to do particular techniques or perform a Kata, but still the basic elements are there and are more or less the same. Kyokushin is Kyokushin. Wish you all the best in your search for truth. OSU!"

Unite Kyokushin
Unite Kyokushin Karate (UKK)

We can only hope that one day we will all be united

The N.S.K.O. is officially affliliated to the European and the World Karate Organization. (EKO and WKO). The World Karate organization ShinKyokushinkai has it’s main office in Shinjuku at the International Budo Center. The organization has today, only in Japan, 35 Branches. Additionally to this also 23 independent Dojos with a total of 20.000 members in Japan. Then under WKO there is a large number of recognized Branches in 64 countries with a total of 50.000 members. WKO is amongst many other activities the organizer of the World Open Karate Tournament  and the World Cup.

The special thing with Kyokushjn Karate is the philosophy of Masutatsu Oyama. On these were the fullcontact rules created upon. This was a new concept with rules close to reality, which made the tournament fighting real. Not unly the audience, but also the fighters themselves. This made a Budo Art that originated from Japan to become a Budo Art popular amongst the western countries.

The founder of  Kyokushin Karate, Mas. Oyama passed away 1994, however, the three guidelines or motto, made up by Sosai Oyama are still working as the motto of Kyokushin Karate:

·        Educating the young generation

·        International exchange

·        Contribution to society

In today’s world , we are facing several problems such as children refusing to go to school, severe teasing amongst school friends and others, violence amongst yuong people, and many other problem. To solve these kind of problems Budo, with it’s mentality and spirit becomes an important factor, and Kyokushin is making efforts to solve these kind of problems.

The spirit of Bushido is used to be descibed in five words:

·        humanity

·        loyalty

·        encourage

·        courtesy

·        trust

Kyokushin Karate can also be descibed with these words.

Develop your own strength and be kind to others is probably what most parents want from their children. However, today It is not easy educate the human people in moral questions. Probably that is why we today, can see a tremendous increase of young new comers to the Kyokushin Dojos around the world. Kyokushin is working hard to contribute to the education of the younger generation.
