Section 3- Broken Sky, Tattered Earth
#1- The Looking-Glass
Leknaat gives Luc a magical mirror in which he can watch his brother. Luc thinks about the distance between them.
#2- "I Can't Move"
Sasarai is ill and misdiagnosed by the court physician. Luc watches his brother and is frustrated about how helpless he is to do anything. Hikusaak fires the doctor and takes on Dr. Miyo to fill his position.
#3- Bed-ridden
Still sick, Sasarai is weak and tired. Somme and Hikami look in on him, and he asks them about his "real mother...the pretty one in the picture."
#4- Lonely Kids
Luc and Sasarai both battle loneliness.
#5- Ryuichi as Role Model
Ryuichi tries to connect with Sasarai, who tries on the bishop's hat. Ryuichi is struck by the resemblance between Sasarai and the portraits of Hikusaak.
#6 Fate Moved Around Me
Ryuichi takes Sasarai a meeting of the Counsel and points out the various leaders.
#7- What is a Third-Class Citizen?
Sasarai is too embarrassed to play with the daughters of a third-class friend of Ryuichi's. Hikami gives Sasarai a geography lesson and Sasarai contemplates helping out poor people.
#8- Assassination
Sasarai isn't hungry, but the meal Ryuichi eats is poisoned. There's nothing Hikami and Sangyun can do for him.
#9- Sasarai in the Temple
Sasarai wanders into the center of the Temple, where various clerics debate theological issues. Their dilemma is quite clear to Sasarai, much to their wonder. Hikusaak finds him there and is slightly impressed.
#10- "Ethics, Freedom, Morality"
Sasarai stands beside art representing better days in Harmonia, and Hikusaak's lost idealism.
#11- Invalid's Attitude
Sasarai is a little nervous after having been ill.
#12- A Radical
Father Rico, Ryuichi's replacement on the Counsel, turns out to be a "radikal." His views lead to his assassination after two months in office.
#13- Encounter with the Temple Guards
Sasarai runs around in the yard with the Temple Guards, starting a bit of a snowball fight. Later he wonders if he prefers their constant gaze to being alone.
#14- "These are the words of Hikusaak"
Hikusaak formally introduces Sasarai to a portion of the Counsel. When Sasarai stands up to take a bow, he falls down, leading the Counsel members to question his health and readiness to take the position Hikusaak wants for him.
#15-The Original Dream
Sasarai speaks to the Counsel- a much different group from those who founded the nation.
#16- Crushed
A school will not accept Sasarai and it gets him down. Nash offers some comfort, but Sasarai brushes him off.
#17- Communicating with Fuko
Another novice priest comes to the Temple. Sasarai likes him, but doesn't know exactly how to behave around him.
#18- Teacher's Pride
Fuko and Sasarai take part in the annual painting of the Temple. Hikami has a high opinion of his teaching skills.
#19- With Your Friends
Sasarai takes in a lost flying squirrel for a few days during the winter.
#20-Youth
What makes one become an adult? Does anyone really know?
#21- Intimidating
The Counsel members make their move and invite Sasarai in, impressed with the speech he made the previous day. However, their methods and attitude overwhelm him and he slips out of their grasp.
#22-Orsini Hospitality #1
Lucas Orsini walks around town with Sasarai and attempts to give him a hand.
#23- Mado no Soto ni
Luc wonders what his brother is doing, and Leknaat assures him that they will meet again. Luc goes outside to greet the group from Suikoden I as they arrive on the island.
#24- Lost in Time
Hikusaak calls Sasarai in to see him and speaks excitedly about people long dead.
#25- Excavation
Hikami talks Lord Seda, the overseer of the mysterious excavations the nation has ordered in the north. Sasarai remembers his daughter from the visit he made to the site before.
#26- Treasure of the Cyndar
Sasarai is ill again. Hikusaak comes across a reminder of days past and decides to read his son some fairytales.
#27- Clerical Stories
Sakurazaki, Tjasse, Hazel, Komatsu, and Dana comment on their early lives and the pasts of some other clerics receive a short mention. When Sasarai comes in, the friendliness comes to an abrupt end.
#28- Smoke in Your Eyes
Sasarai carries the incense burner around the cathedral, but it makes him start coughing. Lena worries about his health.
#29- Sasarai's Assistant
Nika gives an anonymous boy a tour of her school. It turns out to be Bishop Sasarai. Hikami removes her from the school and appoints her to the position of Sasarai's assistant.
#30- About Nika
Nika's life story, leading up to how she ended up at the Temple, as told by Suzume.
#31- Nika's Dilemma
Sasarai and Nika rest on the grass under the Holy Tree. Sasarai puts his sleeps against Nika's face in his sleep as Hikami walks by. Nika is understandably flustered.
#32- Shinboku no Shita ni
Sasarai reflects on how his life has been centered around the Holy Tree and thinks he is forgetting something...
#33- What Nika Observes
Nika makes Sasarai's bed and does some laundry before going out to watch the "Open Counsel" meeting.
