Kiisan

- official 'En no Monsho no Keishosha' ("Bearer of the Circle Rune")
- priest/revolutionary...carries a staff with a sun emblem on it...wears a large blue hat...must be easy to pick out in a crowd, afraid of Mai Mai
Falina
- sixteen years old, from Finnel Village in the state of Serif
- Kiisan's best friend, a bit naive
- what does she think of Hai-Yong? She's very nice to him, even though he doesn't deserve it.
Captain Louis Abdul
- twenty-seven years old
- commander from the Serif State Army
- knows a lot of people, pretty good-looking too, wears an ivy-green cape
Russ
- in his twenties, from a rural village in the state of Serif
- smart soldier who is distinguished from other revolutionary volunteers from Serif's State Army because he is a good cook
- he's really just a normal guy who just happened to be noticed by Kiisan.
Sonoa
- member of the Shensa Tribe
- works as an assassin with her friend/pet Mai Mai
- doesn't like soup. Has a bit of an accent... Her daggers have edges that are curved on both sides...
Mai Mai
- Sonoa's pet/friend, likes hunting for small animals, being petted, and terrorizing Kiisan
- came from the forests in the northern part of the nation
- she looks a little like a snow leopard. She's pretty big...her coat is white/cream colored with black splotches
Junsuke
- a ninja, origins unknown
- Rizu's partner, usually succinct and calm
- is ambidexterous...carries throwing knives, but is skilled with many weapons
Rizu
- Junsuke's partner, gets sort of fired up about situations
- got the scars on his face fighting against Medina's State Army when he was younger
- used to be a footsoldier in Serif's State Army before becoming a special agent of the Turan
Lucien
- a smart older man, he has some training as a doctor
- used to be a commander in Serif's State Army
- doesn't have any children, despite his age, and was never married...
Yuber
- I like to say he's old as the hills. I'm probably not far from right.
- although Kiisan and the others can't see them(because of the helmet) he has two different colored eyes, one is red and the other is bluish gray
- he and Sasshalai get along very well. No one is sure why.
Father Carlos
- used to be a narrow-minded twirp, but sorted that out well
- his hair doesn't grow very quickly so it will probably be at different lengths for a long time, unless he decides to cut it all short. I don't think he'd do that.
- wears a large round hat like Kiisan. His robes don't fit him as well though so sometimes he trips...
Han Li
- his age and birthplace are a secret. He doesn't like to talk about himself.
- he cares about his appearance even though he seems like a dust magnet. He carries a comb in the pouch attached to his belt...he fixes his hair more often than the women.
- bearer of the True Wind Rune. He knows a lot about a lot of things...especially about magic and the True Runes...Kiisan has a lot to learn from him...
Jirobane
- a young swordsman, looking for a woman who owes his father something
- doesn't want to inherit his father's business...wants to become a master swordsman
- is interested in Ocha...asks her lots of questions about her time
Ocha
- a time mage? she's from the past...
- very fast, could beat Han Li on a sprint, but he would win an endurance race
- a little bit confused. She knows a lot of folklore.
Hittoko
- speaks Lirwai and some broken English, younger sister of Hyoko
- is impressed by Kiisan...she respects Carlos also, because they are priests
- likes to dance, likes flowers and animals
Hyoko
- Hittoko's older sister, speaks Lirwai and English fluently
- named "leopard child" for the dark birthmark, like a leopard's spot, on her face
- good at cleaning and also skilled at growing grain, very self-sufficient
Sasshalai
- seven years old, son of Matataki from Klikk
- has the ability to read minds, but is still just a child, is excited about his loose tooth
- Kiisan is his favorite person around, but he also likes Yuber, Falina, Carlos, and Lucien...he is a little afraid of Han Li because he knows about something Han Li did in the past...
Haneh T'Rumour
- younger sister of General Keiichi T'Rumour, survivor of his betrayal
- very serious, driven woman...isn't sure what to do with herself now that her task has been completed
- had nothing against Kiisan when she attempted the assassination, was just hired by the Turan
Kusa
- calls herself a mercenary, but is more like a grave robber and scavenger
- a bit of a packrat, but has no real home...her people are nomadic and carry all of their belongings with them everywhere...
- sort of greedy, eccentric, and devious...is more vocal than Kurin
Kurin
- would not deny being a grave robber like Kusa would...he is honest
- wears dark glasses, but has no sight problems, he just likes how they look
- wishes he could be something more honorable, but doesn't know how to change...he was raised to be like this...
Mio de Silverburg
- nineteen years old, a strategist...his view conflict with those of his father, Kiyon de Silverburg, who works for Emperor Leo Maximillian
- likes tea and gardening, especially taking care of his roses
- a little on the timid side...also sort of poetic...sees the details in things
Captain Hai-Yong Pavlen
- former imperial commander under General T'Rumour
- his curiousity makes trouble for him...he is also lazy and a procrastinator.
- enjoys himself by being snotty to Russ and Lucien...likes Falina...

Kiisan
-just found out he was afraid of heights
-is confused about his feelings...
Falina
-wants to plant the wisteria seeds Hai-Yong gave her back at the citadel
-is just about as confused about things as Kiisan is...
Captain Louis Abdul
-did you think he was married? I was a little surprised when they mentioned his wife.
-he's very strong, he carried Mio when they were in the mountains
Russ
-disappointed the revolutionaries who stayed at the citadel by going south; Hittoko does most of the cooking for them now
-has been dictating Kiisan's travels to Kenta so that he can tell his tales correctly
Sonoa
-finally found a vegetable she doesn't mind eating (celery)
-is enjoying the cooler weather
Mai Mai
-still likes to stalk Kiisan, we're not sure if she's serious or not
-likes to eat cheese, steals it from the kitchen
Junsuke
-makes fishing lures for Rizu to use in the river
-lately he is homesick for his village
Rizu
-is jealous of how the girls are always talking to Han Li
-he is popular with the citizens of Onwya because he knows a lot about fishing in the rivers

-makes some sort of kites that he uses in battle...we haven't had a demonstration yet
-has a niece and nephew living in Kuwan
-he was very close to his deceased brother who was a soldier

-apparently he knows Master Matataki...we don't know how...
-is getting sick of being away from battle

-he continues to grow bolder which is impressive; has sort of made friends with Sita Katyana
-comes from a fishing family; used to live by the ocean

-has almost always fought as a revolutionary of some sort
-was young during the reign of Emperor Henry Ryn (he ruled for forty-five years, over two hundred years ago)
-seems very popular with the ladies

-thinks Ocha might be the woman his father sent him to find

-still hasn't found a way to go back to her time...isn't her magic strong enough?
