Kjwan, Congratulations!

Kjwan is now the first ASEAN Ikon band!

They just schooled Malaysia and Indonesia yesterday with their otherworldly set of Invitation and One Look. That giant Philippine flag in the middle of their slate just did me in; it brought me goosebumps.

Props too to Vina Morales, not only for winning the solo category,
but also for distracting the Malaysian band OAG (whose vocalist was OA by the way).
I guess Shaina is still in her shadow and not the other way around
(although I did spot Shaina at Glorietta some weeks ago, and... I'm a believer! Rar!).

Asia, you're not supposed to be Spiderman.

A Free Man.

The young always believes that everything they think of is original.

For example, when I learned Francis Magalona was also into digital photography, I was like,
'wait! I thought about that first!'

Anyway, that's why elders tell us to read. It's to tell apart an original idea from another.

So yesterday, I have been reading the Multiply blog of Francis M a Free Mind.

Besides being an enduring icon of Philippine rap, Sir Kiko has prided himself for living the life of a free man. He is where he wants to be. And in his own words, he only has the name of his parents, guts, and the skills to pay the bills.

Skills to pay the bills? I'm definitely signing up for that.

Surely Sir Kiko's skills are enough to feed his latest (and expensive) frenzy: digital photography. Read his posts about his application to the Camera Club of the Philippines (the oldest in the country at 79 years), his tenure as its 'probee', his different contest entries, and his inductionand if you can't see how this hobby has consumed him like wildfire, go watch the latest music video of Cueshe.

Francis M is already clocking at 42 years old, is a loving husband and father of 8 kids (I want to thank him for bringing in that third child), and yet impeccably retains the heart of a child. I think I can't grow old while growing old with photography.

MRT.

Two more days and we will be storming the Eastwood Plaza stage.

Butterflies, butterflies, butterflies!

We'll be playing MRT for our soundcheck on Saturday.

But I just said that to segue. Yesterday, classes were suspended and I lingered enough to come face to face with the rush hour throng at Ayala Station.

It's really some serious stuff. I only bypassed the masses by doing a round trip through Taft. People were like gremlins, and yes, it rained. Those two guards doing bag inspections definitely get my vote for 'most stressed faces in a long while.'

Yet despite the volume of people, I still wonder why no one stepped out of the San Juna-Annapolis station.

Not that I'm...

You've heard of this expression? Not that I'm... _______

Not that I'm arrogant, but I own the world and not to mention your soul.

Not that I'm evil, but I think people must die because they are worthless like you.

Yes, these. I hate these.

Alden Acosta and Patricia Ann Roque, not that I'm name dropping, didn't use them when they voted for No Parking.

So don't use them.

Abovementioned aside, if there was anything good about the 2-week voting period for Globe Kantabataan, it was sleeping at night knowing my friends--celebrity or not, long-lost or newfound--and my family have all been heaven-sent. We have asked for love; and so was it given.

Thank you for this experience.

Now, it's all a matter of letting you all feel you voted wisely. See you all tomorrow.
Eastwood Plaza, 6pm, for free.
