Daijoubu (dah-ee-joh-oo-boo)

Danmaku (dah-n-mah-koo)

弾幕

だんまく

N.

Literally meaning "bullet curtain", a danmaku refers to a shooting game in which so many bullets are spread around. English speaking people know these games as maniac shooters or bullet hell shooters. Danmaku elements can also be implied in other types of games besides shooters. Some danmaku shooting games series include "Esp", "Mushihime-sama" and "Ikaruga". A non-shooting game that has the danmaku elements is "Megamari".

Desu (deh-soo)

です

V.

"To be". You rarely hear de aru/である which is said by the Magician of "Magical Drop" and de gozaru/でござる which is said by Capcom's Gai and "Rurouni Kenshin's" title character, though you often hear it as da/だ. As for the famous "no da" by "Fushigi Yuugi's" Chichiri, let me give an example. I am sitting down and I say, "Osoi no da". I just said, "So slow," and it doesn't matter if I add in the "no da" because I will say the same statement. If I translate the statement word for word, it means along the lines of "It (referring to the today in this situation) is so slow." Same statement, right? I hope this explanation makes sense.
