August 5th 2003, Fire fighters, police officers, and citizens alike morn the loss of 3 fire fighters today. In a freak accident/drive by shooting, Driver Lt. Robert Steel, Officer James Garn, and Officer Kevin James were killed. Lt. Steel being one of 2 Lieutenants who actually drove the trucks to a scene.
All 3 were members of fire hall 3, all riding to a drive by shooting, when apparently they were targeted by the same gang, bullets blew out the drivers side front tire, and killed Lt. Steel, who was driving, causeing the truck to careen off of a bridge, rolling end over end killing Officer Garn and Officer James.
Chief Kelly Morre, Fire hall 3 claims that Hall 3 has lost its 3 best fire fighters, saying the department is striving to keep up now that they are gone. Pumper 3 is totaled, to be used as parts. The equipment on board is useless, the hoses torn during the rolls. Pumper 3 will be replaced by Engine 3, which is still to be choosen. Durning this time, Hall 3's calls will be covered by other near by fire halls.
Lt. Steel is survived by his wife Maria Steel. Officer Garn is survived by his parents David and Sally Garn. Officer James is survived by his daughter Renee Hill, and Son-in-law Mark Hill. Funeral services are planned for August 20th.

I'd also like to thank to Jeff Christner, and his Sixby Fire Tech apparatus. His apparatus have given me many great ideas, and inspiration. Although is site is closing down (or closed, depending on when you're reading this), I will continue to draw ideas from his apparatus. The fire terms below are also basicly copied from his site, although I've changed some terms.
Here is a link to his site (what's left...) http://members.aol.com/regult/, I wish him luck in the future. Jeff's equipment has been a great inspiration for many people, and if its not to late, look at his site, as those pictures are soon to dissapear.
Thanks Jeff for all of your great inspiration, I may even name a fire hall after you,
Josh
