No? This is a suprise indeed. Surely, you would have had to have of lived in a cave to not know of the shimmering. Still, I will tell you if you want...

It all started a long time ago, see. Well before you or I were born. It was in 1700 C.E. In a remote part of the world- no one has ever been able to determine where- Shime was born. Shime, as we know today, was the first shimmering, and it was her that created the power-balls. But I am getting ahead of myself there, see. Anyway, Shime had these kind of powers, you know, like the ones the shimmering have, and she was a mighty weird one. People were really afraid of her, they shunned her a lot and even though she was so nice to everyone, they weren't as nice back, if you catch my meaning there, see?

Anyway, the little country that Shime was born in-the one that we don't really know where it was- was attacked by its neighbour- which no one even knows where that was either- and everyone would have been slaughtered, if it wasn't for old Shime there. See, Shime had been working on these balls, these little trinkets, and she gave them to people, see? Now, these little balls-we call them powe-balls- did some mighty weird stuff, they weren't normal, which is why they were so good, see?

Anyway, Shime showed the people how to use the power-balls and the country was safe. People weren't so afread of her anymore and so they started to sort of worship her as well as all the people who Shime had given the power-balls to. Now that's what the shimmering are, see?
